Good luck to the Cards & Thunder!

JB...saw Coach Krohn on Saturday night. He let us warmup and dress at your alma mater before the game with York. Those are really nice facilities at Elmhurst!!

NCC 30 CU 34
(I have no reason for picking this other than I think CU has NCC's #)

SOT,

Your post does interest me though.  Why do you think that CUW might have our #?  The only time we played them was this year.  It was the first game of the year for the beloved Cards and the second for CUW.  I believe NCC has shown that we can defend the run better than we did in that first game.  Hopefully we show it on Saturday!

Just from playing both teams I would say that CU has the advantage on the DL, those guys were all 6'4'' 300lbs.  If NCC makes the same mistakes they made against Carthage in the first half, they might find it hard to come back on. Dont get me wrong, I WANT NCC to win and I hope that my prediction is wrong, I am just predicting an upset.

Also I heard from Tailgater that NCC played very poorly in the playoffs against Capital in a game in which they could have won. I hope they can go out this week and avenge an earlier season loss and establish themselves as a playoff team.

.........and the karma hits will continue, I have angered the Karma Gods

Irish21-- I am very happy for Fremd (even though they lost to York).  The Vikings had a great year and should be tough next year!  Best of luck to Fremd.
Coach Krohn is 1 of the 2 main reasons I chose Elmhurst and played FB there.  I think of Coach as a "big Teddy Bear" because he is a great player's coach.  They have upgraded the facilities since I played there.  Today, they are indeed very nice facilities with great accomodations.
Are you going to the Prospect/Lake Zurich game on Saturday?  Depending upon what time I return to this area from Milwaukee, I might go see the Alma Mater play.  How is Patrick doing?  Mark

Thanks Irish! You know how proud us parents can be. You know the feeling well seeing as Pat was twice named all-conference.

Hscoach,

Ncc will be in shotgun most of the game and have a very good run game from there. Their frosh) was 1st team all cciw and is tough. Kniss can run well and distributes the ball to many diff players. I was at the cap/ncc game and I can tell you this ncc team is better than last years team. I never thot that was possible with who they lost but I believe its true. Their defense is solid vs the pass. Their dbs are athletic and sound.their best def player is the safety bellazini and they have 3 fast lbs. Its a good defense but no where near muc defense. The qb is the franchise.

Oh gosh,  I'm sorry  "You will have to excuse me, I'm a little slow. The town is THAT way" (what movie  ;)  )

I was thinking about something.  I know this will probably never happen, but just to ponder this for a minute or two.

With the IBFC having one more year and the teams dispersed to the NAC and SLIAC... what if Concordia-WI was to join the CCIW?  We have had Carroll  in conference at one time and Carroll isn't too far away from CUW.
I think CUW vs. Car  CUW vs. NC  CUW vs. EC  could be a nice "geographic" rivalry.
I know this is a highly unlikely situation, but I was just "daydreaming" and thinking about that.  I just don't see any real "powerful" football teams other than CUW in the NAC.

Usee,
NCC will most likely run the option(like they did against us) if anything, like SOT said the CUW d-line is enormous and it is hard to run straight at them.

There is also the Freeport Pretzels.

How about the only school in the state of Illinois without a mascot...Rockford East E-Rabs (East-Red and Black Spirit)?

Redmen96

The high school teams in my town are called the Glens Falls Indians..."Indians" can you believe the nerve of them to have such an offensive name.  I am going out to get signatures I wont stand for this.

We will always be REDMEN

I don't think anyone has mentioned the Hoopeston Cornjerkers.

By the way, I expect both CCIW reps to win this weekend. I think the only thing that could do Wheaton in would be crucial and/or a lot of turnovers (which has been a liability for them). I think North Central, as many others have said, are a different team than in the season opener.

A friend of mine who is also an NPU alumnus went to Benson H.S. in Omaha, NE. His high school's nickname was the Bunnies. He once showed me a picture of Benson's gym; it has a huge angry rabbit with fangs painted on the jump-ball circle at center court. It immediately made me think of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

keil,

I was responding to HScoach's post (he is an OAC poster) and talking about a potential 2nd round matchup w capital. I would be ncc will throw quite a bit, run option as you suggested and their counter sweep vs CUW.
