All-american discussions should probably wait till after the playoffs, but it is fun to start them early.  Does the playoffs have alot to do with the All-american voting or is it based solely on Reg Season?

NC-  Kniss (1st or 2nd?)
     Belazzini (1st - 3rd?)
    Stuedemann (2nd-H.M)
    Kasper or Spicer (2nd-H.M.)
Wheaton
   Studebaker- 1st
ittersagen -  2nd to 3rd (maybe 1st if he shuts down Garcon?)
  Black  H.M.

Any other CCIW players?  Anyone elses thoughts...

Here is the link to an article in the Daily Herald regarding the Wheaton game.  http://www.dailyherald.com/search/searchstory.asp?id=251733  There is also a link on the Wheaton athletics web page (www.wheaton.edu/athletics) under the football subheading.  I am concerned at the amount of penalties in this last game.  If Wheaton commits 110 yards of penalties against the Purple Raiders the Thunder will be toast in Alliance yet again.

Scary thing is that Mount Union averages almost 100 yards in penalities a game and it doesn't impede their ability to destroy everyone.  Could ultimately cost them if someone plays them tough...

Congrats to the CCIW on getting both teams through the 1st round.  Good luck against the OAC!

it depends on which all american team you are talking about. there are so many nowadays. I remember when there was 1 team for both d2 and d3 (little all american). no second team just 11 players on each side w a couple kickers.

lets pretend we are talking about the best team, d3fb.com all american team:

I think studebaker and Kniss are in the conversation. there are a lot of really good qb's out there to consider so no matter how good you are at that spot its a tough spot to get. studebaker has the stats and really should be there. itersagen has a chance and is probably as good as most on there. Studeman, black and everyone else has little chance in my book. we might get an HM offensive lineman from wheaton since they were the #1 offense in the conf statistically but don't count on it. Thats my take. getting more than 1 or 2 even mentioned from 1 conference is tough. especially considering our highest ranked team is 17th. there are a lot of good teams ahead of us in the d3 rankings. Not that they all should be or will be at the end but thats the reality.

"Kellinski and Screechnick?"   Was my favorite Saved by the Bell line or Zack's reserved seat in Detention.
My favorite old program (and yes it is somewhat corny) was Fullhouse.  I still watch those reruns and think Lori Loughlin was a doll. ;)

My favorite cartoon was/is Scooby Doo.  In fact, my dog died a year before I left for Elmhurst and had a picture of my Bearded Collie framed in a Scooby-Doo frame.  Here's this supposedly "tough" football player with a picture of Scooby Doo on his desk!  Scooby Doo was on at 1:00 AM on Cartoon Network.  I would study to about 12-12:30ish, then try and fall asleep watching ol' Scooby.  :P

OK, back to business.  Wheaton is leaving at 8 o'clock on Friday morning for the 7 hour bus trip. (eeck!) I think it is important for Wheaton to start the first 5-10 minutes strong and not "dig a hole".  The longer the game stays close, the greater the Thunder's chances.
Cap/NC should be a great game and think either team can win this one.

Congratulations to Kam on being a finalist for the Gagliardi Award.  Year after year it seems this conference (CCIW) has players/teams that are receiving accolades and awards.

Usee,

Belazzini is a preseason 2nd team by Don Hanson,  (Ok, it isnt d3football.com but what is??) leads the conf. in Ints, averages 5 tackles a game and he doesnt get a look?
I think he has to get some votes from D3football for sure and will probably be 1st team on Hansons team.

Stuedemann could be an all-american tight end right? isnt that where he lines up ?  :)

It doesn't matter what stats anyone leads in the conference. go on the ncaa website and look at national stats. better yet, go on the websites for the top 10 seeds in the playoffs and see their top players and how ours compare. thats who we are up against. It stiff competition. doesn't mean someone will or won't get AA, just means there are a lot of good players outside the cciw.

Thunder Fans - Have a safe trip this weekend and welcome to the thriving metropolis that is Alliance!  ;)

Now to football...Can anyone tell me how you can match up with Mount, which in turn, will lead to a "W" for Wheaton?

Safe travels for all CCIW players and fans as you head to OHIO this weekend.  I am looking forward to a good game at MUC--our team has barely been challenged this season, so I invite the Thunder to bring it on.

As you might remember, since you have been here before--the parking lot at the southwest corner of the stadium is the traditional tailgate area--keep it in a cup and Alliance's "finest" won't bother you a bit.

Good luck to all four teams and have a happy Thanksgiving.  Happy Thursday for the CCIW since Saturday will be very depressing, for you. ::)

GO CRUSADERS AND RAIDERS!!!
