The intent of the time outs (good, bad or indifferent) was to allow the senior defensive players and opportunity to walk off the field for the last time.  The coaches recognized these seniors (offensive too) have done a lot for the program, e.g. CCIW Conference Title, Advancing to 2Nd round of NCAA playoff, leading various community service initiatives, etc.  Hence---- the TO's providing and opportunity to walk off the field for the final time

Brass Bell, Thanks for the clarification. I thought it might have to do with something like that when it appeared the seniors were being taken out of the game. Do you know who's idea that was?

This is a traditional way to honor seniors and other players for their contributions over the past season or career. Its also used in basketball and baseball, and prob some other sports as well. Its a nice way to let players who have contributed to a program's success hear the cheers of the crowd in recognition of all their dedication and hard work during the season or their career.

0-5 in Alliance. You want an "IF/MAYBE" scenario?? IF wheaton had beaten Augie, we would have hosted Capital last weekend and MAYBE we wouldn't have had to play in Alliance until this weekend.  :P

Or at all. :)
