Do you know when they will announce the winner?

well the awards ceremony is usually midweek during the Stagg festivities so its got to be this week.

I should add that I believe the info on Kniss must be that he leads Brehm as the North Region Finalist. the Four Finalist's are likely to be announced this week and the winner announced in Salem next week.

I had information (accurate and reliable information) and after reasonable reply from Keith (another D3 guru) I went back and clarified the information I posted with the above post, which was modified before the announcement.  Thanks for asking Pat, but i wasn't spreading "rumors", merely trying to post something I thought to be relevant for the discusion.

To my fellow CCIW posters: My aplogies. My mistake was not posting the clarification in both places. Sorry if the information I posted was misleading.

We like to post rumors on this board as a defense mechanism against coaches who hang aroung here and sometimes post.  ;) You know who you are ...

I have it on close sources that Coach Swider just got a crew cut this morning.

That my friend Mugsy is a terrible lie- just for the record.  In the words of Coach Swider "I get two haircuts a year, whether I need one or not."

Wow I was just looking at the hoops top 25 and noticed 3 CCIW schools on the board and 2 mentioned.  Is basket ball really a sport?

Not only is basketball a sport, but the CCIW basketball message board is the gold standard on this site. We wish more boards were like that one.

Now, Now Pat I am sure he was only joking! ::)

Umm...  I thought it was such a blatant tongue & check response to the "rumor" posts, that surely no one would take it serious. ;)

Having known him for 20+ years, I'm completely aware of Coach Swiders scheduled haircuts.

Mugs,
I picked up on the sarcasm; I thought was funny so I joined in.  Yes, even us Redmen are well aware of the "Swider Cut"

All I will say is this Pat.  With all due respect for what you do for D3 football you come off as extremely arrogant in some of your posts, and I know I am not the first to mention it.  I enjoy this board because it gives pertinent information about D3 football, and it's a platform for discussion about the past, present, and future of the CCIW.  "This is what you said and this was definitely off -- just for the record."  As I said before, I think all of us could figure out that usee was incorrect, but you went ahead and pointed it out, and put it on record.  You obviously have a great deal more access to information than anyone else because of what you do for D3football.com, and statements like that make you seem arrogant in that.  It's your website, so do what you want.  Just be cautious that arrogance tend  to  tick people off.

.

Let it go we have had this discussion here before and it sucked then too!

It is Pat's Site and if you don't like what he says don't read it!

Does anyone know when All-Region and All-American honors are posted on D3?

We announce our All-American team in the pregame show for the Stagg Bowl and it is posted on the site that night or the next morning.

We should be releasing our All-Region teams tomorrow -- the only question is if I'll have enough time to compile the votes and write the press releases between getting off work tonight and going to work tomorrow.

This year more than most. Remember, I took a job in Connecticut in August. The rest of the family is still in the D.C. area. She's not getting a lot of help right now.  :-\

That's a tough gig Pat - Move them up to Conn.

Also, what is the criterion for All-Region / All-American teams? Who votes on these?

[DELETED: I don't appreciate jokes about my livelihood. I need my day job to pay the bills. Thanks for your consideration.]

P.S. Mugsy, I was being sarcastic with you about Swider's hair as well.  His hair is his identity, and I think he knows it!  How long has it been since he had a short cut do you think?
