Also, what is the criterion for All-Region / All-American teams? Who votes on these?

Criteria? Be a good player. Who votes? Staff and SIDs vote on All-Region, staff chooses All-American.

Pat,

I for one am willing to wait an extra day for the all-regional teams!  Family comes before website (as long as you don't become a total slacker!) ;D ;)

(And somehow I suspect that is genetically impossible!)

All I will say is this Pat.  With all due respect for what you do for D3 football you come off as extremely arrogant in some of your posts, and I know I am not the first to mention it.  I enjoy this board because it gives pertinent information about D3 football, and it's a platform for discussion about the past, present, and future of the CCIW.  "This is what you said and this was definitely off -- just for the record."  As I said before, I think all of us could figure out that usee was incorrect, but you went ahead and pointed it out, and put it on record.  You obviously have a great deal more access to information than anyone else because of what you do for D3football.com, and statements like that make you seem arrogant in that.  It's your website, so do what you want.  Just be cautious that arrogance tend  to  tick people off.

In regards to Kam Kniss, no Gagliardi Trophy but that doesn't diminish the incredible career he had, and the help he provided in reshaping North Central's program into  national recognition.

Very well said SonsOfThunder. Part of this board is posting rumors. Thats what people might hear and like to talk about. Not a big deal. Once those rumors are put to rest then it's over but in the meantime it's fun to talk about them.

Not to try and start an argument, but I think Pat and the rest of the d3football.com team have a right to be arrogant to a degree.  They have created a wonderful site with more information than any of us could ever imagine or fathom using while holding down full time jobs, raising families, etc.  Although rumors are fun, a rumor about the Gagliardi trophy is easily quelched while rumors about certain aspects of the CCIW and its teams are more fun to look at because that's why were all here IMHO.

On the other hand, congrats to Kam Kniss for being nominated and one of the finalists for the Gagliardi Trophy.  His career was outstanding and that nomination is just icing on the cake.

Why is there a reason for anyone to be Arrogant in life Titanbacker??  That is an awful quality in any human being.

Yes exactly! Being arrogant is a terrible quality to have as a person.

Do you know when they will announce the winner?

well the awards ceremony is usually midweek during the Stagg festivities so its got to be this week.

I should add that I believe the info on Kniss must be that he leads Brehm as the North Region Finalist. the Four Finalist's are likely to be announced this week and the winner announced in Salem next week.

I had information (accurate and reliable information) and after reasonable reply from Keith (another D3 guru) I went back and clarified the information I posted with the above post, which was modified before the announcement.  Thanks for asking Pat, but i wasn't spreading "rumors", merely trying to post something I thought to be relevant for the discusion.

To my fellow CCIW posters: My aplogies. My mistake was not posting the clarification in both places. Sorry if the information I posted was misleading.

Usee -
No reason to aplogize to the board. You did nothing wrong and I would done the same thing if I had some inside info.

P.S. Mugsy, I was being sarcastic with you about Swider's hair as well.  His hair is his identity, and I think he knows it!  How long has it been since he had a short cut do you think?

Yeah, I thought you might be joking too... just getting familiar with the "tone" of your posts.

Let's see last "short" haircut... probably around 1965 or so.

I dont' want to really push this argument any further because I don't think there's any more reason to "rock the boat."  Yet, put yourself in Pat's position.  If you and a handful of others created a unique and successful website that serves hundreds of thousands of people and answers almost every question about D3 football while having a family and working a regular day job, wouldn't you be a little bit arrogant at times?  I don't think Pat is saying things in an overbearing manner, but he does have a lot of experience and education concerning the 200+ schoolsI in Division 3.  MHO, I'll take Pat's apparent "arrogance" at times in order to share stories and information with all of you here.

In other news, any other coaching transitions or issues in the off season besides NCC?

I hear that NPU is already starting to recruit pretty heavily in the south.  I'm interested to hear how Scott Pethtel will do with his first recruiting class.

Apparently I didn't make myself clear enough when I wrote "with all due respect."  The only point I was trying to get across was the uneeded arrogance which some tend to think is OK.  Pat is the "guru" of D3 football, and everybody knows that by his reputation.  It's just a little hard to maintain respect while he looks down from above and posts things that are meant to belittle someone.  So, as my final post on this matter, understand that I do not know Pat personally and my post was not meant as a personal attack on his character.  If it was taken that way, then my apologies.

I just looked at the Pickem board and saw that I have only missed 4 games and that I still have 3 of the final 4 picked correctly. I have Mt. Union and UW Whitewater in the championship game, but I said the total score of the game would be 63 points (if anybody cares or is wondering). Not sure why I thought 63 points would be scored in the Stagg Bowl.

I don't think there is any way an MUC/UWW game will produce 63 pts in the stagg. A STJF/Wesley game might or an MUC/Wesley, STF UWW game. but none of those matchups give you a chance to win.....in short, you have no chance. SOT. sorry  ;D ;D

Last year, MUC and UWW managed 63 points. I'm sure they could reach that total again.
