Mr. Ypsi

Gosh, usee, I assumed you meant the Monon Bell, and just went to the wrong board! ;D ;)

Just wondering if there have been any big names committing to CCIW schools?? Also, What is Happening at South Park?? I heard the new coach there is firing coaches left and right. People he himself hired! Can anyone say PROZAC!! Elmhurst seems to have picked up some decent players from what I hear.

Who was fired at NPU?

Dont know them by name, but my friends kid plays there and says that the new hc is letting go of the staff he hired less than a year ago. Looks like another "rebuilding" year yet again.

Go Thunder here is what I do know for 2007

@Benedictine
@Chicago
Olivet
Carthage
@Augustana
North Central
@IWU
Wheaton
@Millikin
North Park
I believe we have a bye week between the Chicago and Olivet games, but I don't know any dates/times yet.
I haven't been told any names, positions, etc. other than Elmhurst has had a successful off season with recruits which is a great positive for our program.  I hope each CCIW school has had most if not all of their recruits committ to this conference.

Well, duh! Of course it's going to be a rebuilding year yet again. NPU went 1-8, 0-7 last season, and there is very little talent on the returning roster. Come on, Zorba ... was there ever any doubt that 2007 was going to be a rebuilding season for NPU? What were you thinking, man?

As for the coaching staff, I doubt that there's been wholesale changes of the "firing coaches left and right" variety. After all, I've seen two of North Park's assistant football coaches on campus within the past week at basketball games. Scott Pethtel's probably made some changes on his staff, but he certainly has the right to do that. Those who are in supervisory positions have not only the right but the responsibility to review their subordinates on an annual basis, and make changes if appropriate. Or would you rather that assistant coaches were guaranteed tenure for as long as their bosses had their jobs?

1. QB  Kam Kniss, NC ;Lon Erickson, IWU; Tim Brylka Millikin
2. RB   Dante Washington, Carthage; Nathan Wallick, Millikin, Matt Roe, Augustana
3. WR  Brad Musso, Wheaton; Mark Loeffler, Wheaton; Tyke Spencer, NC

6. LB    Lenny Radtke, NC; Chip Parrish, Wheaton;
7. DB   No idea
8. Kicker  Mike Clark, Augustana; Andrew Day; Wheaton

Obviously I have some categories that aren't complete.  I just tried to think of some off the top of my head.  I'm interested in hearing what others have to say.

OL-- Ryan Glassman (Carthage) and Louie Rachmaciej (Elmhurst) were great O-Lineman last year.
DB's   Norman Robinson (North Central) was a good one,  Eric Esch at IWU is very talented also.

I like alot of those picks...some others in areas you didn't mention:

OL: James Hoxworth: Wheaton, J.D. Sheldon: Auggie, Mike Zeifert Auggie

DL: Dane Lundgren: Wheaton, M Lindsey: Millikin, Jeff Heinzl: IWU

NCC_alum62

Jeff was a madman for IWU I don't think there was an OL that played against him that didn't come away feeling respect for the man.  Lundgren for Wheaton also had a motor that wouldn't quit.  He put a swim move on two of us from NC on the same move, it was sick.

The auggie tackles were absolute monsters and Hoxworth from Wheaton was a great guard.

WR:
1. Loeffler-Wheaton, 2. Musso-Wheaton, 3. Spencer, T.-NCC/White-IWU
OL:
1. Sheldon-Augie, 2. Witte-NCC, 3. Hay-Augie
DL:
1. Studebaker-Wheaton, 2. Hansen-Augie, 3. Lindsey-MU
LB:
1. Munch-IWU, 2. VanWetzinga-Augie, 3. Hartmann-Carthage/Radtke-NCC

K:
1. Clark-Augie, 2. Day-Wheaton, 3. Jordan-NCC

Thought about this one a lot. The RB's, LB's and DB's were the toughest.  A lot of great players could have ended up on my list and I'm sure might on someone else's.

Other RB's I considered: Burris-CC, Chorney-Augie, Packer-MU.
Other LB's I considered: Brady-EC, Pelkowski-CC, Fox-CC, Clark-IWU,
Other DB's I considered: Prall-CC, Kaplan-IWU, Lee, B.-NCC, Fosdick-Augie

Far be it for me to step in here and inject facts in this debate, but I'll go ahead and do it anyway. One PART TIME coach is leaving, everyone else is back so nice try.
Also, NPU will open the football season with a night game against ill benedictine, the first home football night game in school history. Kind of cool...

NCC_alum62

Thanks for the update on the NPU coaching "shake up" thats kind of funny.  People were saying the same thing about NCC when they advertised a coaching/recruiting position. I'm not an insider or anything, but the job description was mostly about recruiting not about taking over a coordinator position.  After a great season its entirly possible the school gave some more money for a full time recruiting position for the football team to keep talent comming.  Just a guess.

ncc_62,

There should be an announcement soon on the new hire at NCC.
