I'm gunna throw some WR's out there (excluding my guys from NCC to show a little love for the rest of the conference, you all know how good I think the Spencers' were)

I played offense so I missed alot of what some of these guys were doing for whatever reason, but Rob and Juan stand out in my memory for thier respective teams.

Wheaton: Brad Musso, Mark Loeffler

IWU: Eric White

Elmhurst: Juan Quesada

Carthage: Rob Garnes

Millikin: Jerome Jackson

NPU: Brandon Watts...I was looking over thier record book, they don't have many statistical leaders after the 80's.

Juan was a very good reciever during my time playing against Elmhurst at NCC. He was quick and had good hands.

Musso was excellent, he caught just about everything thrown his way. I don't know Loeffler, but I'm guessing the wheaton faithful could fill us in ;)

I always remember Carthages great RB's Dante Washington and Randal Baker, but Rob had some very good numbers for his career.

Same with Millikin I remember Deon Packer and a couple of huge fullbacks not to mention Nate Walleck

NPU has had such dismal offenses the past couple of years its hard for me to pick anyone but Brandon Watts because of his explosivness and speed.

Is DeGeorge still at Auggie coaching defense?

No, he has been gone for a couple of years.  Last I heard, he was out of coaching.

I kind of liked Joe D.  He was a good guy, things just didn't work out for him. I thought he might have made a decent D coach someplace.

guess not if he is out of coaching

Quesada moved to QB and Garnes I believe only played 2 years to concentrate on basketball.  Jackson was very good, but I saw Junebug contain him pretty well.  The first three guys you mentioned are all on my list as well.  It's tough to put any NP guys on any list from recent years with as bad as they have been.

Joe D hurt the program as much as anyone has through the years.  He had zero personality, which killed recruiting, hired an offensive coordinator that didn't know the offense that Degeorge wanted to run and wouldn't listen to his assistants.  He ran a good scheme for a couple of years defensively, but the rest of the conference caught up to it.  With top notch CB's, his defense was great, but without them, it was ugly.

thats why I say I kind of liked him...the last class he recruited helped Thorne get his first 21 wins beating Auggi, IWU, and Millikin for the first time in years. (I was part of that last class).

the year before going 3-7 he went   5-5 it looked like the program might have been turning, but it didn't and slid down even further...alas you are correct. I know he wasn't great its not what I was saying, and the offensve scheme was horrible as you say no doubt about that.

that class also graduated the most number of seniors (21) at NCC since J.T. has been there.

YET One class doesn't make up for the other years of ineptitude...

21 seniors is an impressive number compared to the other classes that preceeded yours.

Its very true...that was a great group alot of us in that group have gone back to watch games and cheer the cardinals on the last few seasons. It meant alot to us to see them get a share of the conference title this past year.

Quesada was a good ballplayer, but I think a better receiver during Quesada's time was Andy Thompson #19.  Andy was not the fastest guy running routes, but he ran the route perfectly, caught everything thrown to him, and scored many TD's for Elmhurst.  Quesada had the better body coordination and speed, but if I was assembling a team, I would take Thompson over Quesada.

WR:

OL:

LB:

K:
1. Clark-Augie, 2. Day-Wheaton, 3. Jordan-NCC

Thought about this one a lot. The RB's, LB's and DB's were the toughest.  A lot of great players could have ended up on my list and I'm sure might on someone else's.

Other RB's I considered: Burris-CC, Chorney-Augie, Packer-MU.
Other LB's I considered: Brady-EC, Pelkowski-CC, Fox-CC, Clark-IWU,
Other DB's I considered: Prall-CC, Kaplan-IWU, Lee, B.-NCC, Fosdick-Augie

What???? how can you forget to put "The Weed" on the all time greatest list?  He owns the unofficial record for dropped interceptions, most int's to hit a facemask, most freak injuries in a career, most midgame benchings by a coach, and most times getting trucked by a ball carrier.

June was the best pure cover corner in the CCIW.  He had his momentary lapses ( a couple games against IWU...and the post corner route..come to mind)...but overall he was like a glove.  He sure made my life easier when i played FS.

The '98 Cardinal D...was a great group.  I still believe that it was one of the top D's in the last 20 yrs of the CCIW.

Alum...

When you refer to D-Joe's O-Coordinator who didn't know how to run the offense and not listen to his assistants...are you talking about the First OCoord...or the Second OCoord?

The first o-coordinator.  He had never run that spread offense.   I was talking about DeJoe that didn't listen to his assistants.

You were in the "others receiving votes"!  ;)  The mid-game benchings were better than any soap opera!

I've said this many times over the last few years and I'll say it again...DeGeorge was a fantastic Defensive Coordinator....a bad head coach.....and he was absolutely nuts.  Those of us who played for him still tell stories about some of the things he said and the stories he told.  Nonetheless...he is a good man and deserves to be treated with respect.
