After reading a lot of past posts, looks like my son has made a good choice to attend Carthage in the fall.  Looks like a good group of coaches.
Or he could have made a better choice and chosen Wheaton.... oh well, I guess he could always transfer... ::) :D :D ;) J/K, we all love the Carthage posters around here. :)

but anybody that can couple a Goethe  and an e.e. cummings quote, Wow. Impressive I may have to rethink my wheaton opinions, or is it California?
Goethe is a fav of my dad... I've heard the quote "Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it." about a billion times in my growing up years. On the site for my dad's TKD school, he actually quotes it in the little flash intro thing! :D

But, it's definitely Wheaton. I read the e.e. cummings poem, "o sweet spontaneous" in one of my many lit class electives. It's one of my favs by him. As a scientist (major was environmental science) and Christian I can still appreciate the very real validity of what he says in inditement against two of the groups I am defined with. Wheaton obviously teaches a much more introspective and meditated and integrated view of how faith interacts with knowledge and learning than you realize. :)

I may be even more impressed that a IWU fb guy knows e.e. cummings works well than the fact that you are impressed that I like it. :)

DIII education... gotta love it. ;)

Carthage plays at Whittier this year.  If you make the trip, you may get to meet diehardfan. (Unless she goes to Wheaton that weekend). :-\

They are making another one? As much as I totally liked that show growing up, I wonder if this means EVERYONE will start calling me April O'Neil again, or if there are now enough famous Aprils that I don't have to worry about this.  ::) :D

You have to admit, there are some striking similarities, just outside of sharing a name.  First,  you are both good at uncovering information (Cartoon character (CC): investigative reporter, diehardfan (DHF):  d3 message board afficianado),  Second, you are both willing to look past outward appearance (CC: her best friends are talking turtles, DHF: your actions speak for themselves),  Third, your friends get you into some crazy situations (CC: Helping her friends fight evil minions, DHF: Ten years ago, would you have ever thought that speaking about TMNT on a football discussion board would have been important to you? oh yeah, and helping your friends fight evil minions)

I was trying to think of other April's that I knew.  The only other one I could think of was an April who moved to my jr. high about halfway through 8th grade and when she got to high school was an all state long distance track runner.

I think everyone would agree that it would be great for the conference to have North Park move into a more competitive level.  What I think people would disagree on is who they would like to see the Vikings break their current conference losing streak against.  That team, whomever it may be, will not be happy.  They were close a number of times recently (v Elmhurst & Millikin 05).  Here is rooting for them, unless they are playing Wheaton.  ;)

When was thier last conference win?

That is certainly a long time between conference wins.

I have not seen any updates on thier website as far as a recruiting class or a season preview yet, but they have 13 OL that were not Seniors on the 2006 roster...Thats a pretty good number of bodies without the typical large freshman class they get every year so 2007 they could have over 20 available and probably will.

No denying this last year's group was very special
LT   6G Glassman, Ryan  (Three Letters, 6'5 266) All Conference/ All Region / All American
LG   67 O'Connor, Nate   (Two Letters 6'1 278)
C    59 Keil, Erik     (Four Letters 6'5 275)
RG   58 Vuturo, J.P.  (Four Letters 6'5 278)
RT   77 McDonald, Andy  (Three Letters 6'4 245)

All 5 are listed as being the starting group for every game last season. And all five are gone.  Its hard to guage any returning talent since I'm not familiar with them (Son of Tailgater would know best since he's a recent grad)

Good thing the Cardinals run a shotgun offense ;)

couldn't resist

My son's favorite team to play against is the shot gun offense!!!   :)

I'm sure the NCC OT's will give him a warm reception  ;)...the Cardinal Line returns 4 of 5 starters and I think they form the backbone of that offense going into next year. I wouldn't doubt Ponx moving Palmer over to LT (depending on whether the starting QB is a righty or lefty going into next season)  I've posted before they had a couple big reserve OL last year 6'4-6'5 270+ that had good frames for an OT.  If they get desperate they could move Kasper (6'3 280+ he was looking bigger than 280 last I saw him) out to tackle because they had a couple kids play at the LG spot...Center is solid with Braga II.  This could be one of thier best lines next season IMHO

NCC Folks:
Whatever happened to Wes Welneck the transfer from Olivet Nazarene University?

We would rotate the second offensive line in for about 3 or 4 series a game.  The second team line did get a fair amount of experience, but not starting or playing an entire game experience. the second line last year had 3 juniors, 1 soph, and 1 freshman.
These are as good as money, these are IOU's

when do the schools typically post their recruiting class and 2007 previews.  I know a lot of recruiting is still going on, so just curious.
