Thanks for the info tailgater.  Wish I knew a RB to send coach ruck's way.  My son's school RB that was outstanding is only a junior.  Hopefully he has one in the works.  The california trip sounds like fun,  I always like an excuse to travel.

Don't know if I'll be on this weekend, but just want to wish everybody a Happy Easter this weekend.  Don't eat too many Cadbury Eggs.  :P

There is no such thing as eating too many cadbury eggs...

If only I could find a rabbit that would provide me unlimited quantities of chocolate eggs...I'd be much fatter than I already am

Unfortunately, my friend Shawn hit the easter bunny as it was on the way to your house.... bummer.... :P :D :-X Actually being female, looking at that picture makes me sick to my stomach. But I thought you guys would appreciate it. Yucky! :-[

Here's a better one.

That's gross on so many levels, but at least not in the gory way! ;D

Happy Good Friday Everyone. :)

Last year Carthage had a bunch of talent, but was bit hard by the injury bug.  I remember Coach Rucks telling me I think he played only 3 games with a full 100% healthy roster.   That's tough to do no matter who you are.
O'Boyle is a solid QB and reminds me a lot of Demma and Chupp (from year's past).  He's not "elite", but he finds ways to make the crisp passes and engineer the offense effectively.
As tailgater mentioned, running and the backfield are going to be big questions for Carthage.
Usually, Carthage has a pretty talented defense and I don't expect anything different this year.
I'm watching the Oklahoma Spring Game and makes me wish each CCIW school had a Spring Game to go and watch.
April,  that's a clever picture...where did your friend find that?
My favorite joke is from Home Alone where Macaulay Culkin is going to visit "Santa", and Santa is illegally parked.  He says, "What's next?  Rabbies shots for the Easter Bunny".  :P

It also helps start getting back into shape after a winter of drinking beer and ordering pizza at 11pm (not that I ever did such a thing).

The rules continue to get tweaked here and there (used to be you couldn't use a ball in D-III spring practice), I wouldn't be surprised if some years from now they allow full contact, not that I advocate it or think it should be part of the DIII experience, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened

Ah yes, the Uncle Pete's midnight pizza run, sure miss those days!!  We were never allowed to use a ball or do anything "football specific".

Memories... ;D

Nowdays I think the most frequent pizza consumption takes place after a delivery rather than a pizza run. My son delivers for Hungry Howies, right up Chicago Ave from the NCC dorms and makes frequent runs down the hill to the dorm complex. The tips are kinda lousy though!  :(   :)

I'm not going to lie to you...the pizza is kinda lousy too

And believe it or not the quickest way is to run to Lil Ceasers for a 5.00 Hot-N-Ready pick up quick and cheap.  Pick up is way cheaper than delivery sometimes.  I don't know about alot of you but if the place charges extra for delivery that seriously affects how I tip a driver.  I didn't order from Hungry Howies because I didn't care for the product, but for me dilvery charge = smaller tip

Little Caesar's? Are you kidding? Hungy Howie's? You 'burbies sound like you have a hard time getting a halfway-decent pie out there.

*sigh*

Oh Greg, what am I ever going to do with you and your confounding, condescending, irrepressible moral superiority because you live in a city, while the rest of us mere mortals live in the burbs.  ::) I know that's not real pizza. Someone at Wheaton once tried to convince me that $5 Little Caeser's was food... yucky! Obviously they were wrong. But at least I figured it out without getting violently ill like you did on Taco Bell.  ;D :D :P Chicago pizza is great, I always miss it when I'm gone from the DIII sports motherland, but Cali has its own unique style, which is, IMHO, better than NY, if possibly second to Chicago. (And no, I don't mean California Pizza Kitchen... unless Uno's counts as Chicago style pizza  ::) ) But everyone knows that the real reason Chicago food is famous is this baby...

Garrett's popcorn.... mmmmmmmmm.....  :-*

Anyhow, anyone who's spent any significant time around a FB player... especially a OL or DL... knows that quantity of food is a great deal more important than quality. It's us common folk that care about the difference between real pizza and fake pizza because we're only going to eat a slice or two... and we chew.  :-X

Um ... that's a rhetorical question, right? Because if it isn't, I'm going to have to flip a coin between "bake some cookies to settle your nerves" and "work out your frustration by knitting another blue-and-orange afghan". ;)

Good point. I hadn't thought of this. And it's nice that you're the one who is putting herself on the hot seat by insinuating that football players eat like a pack of jackals at a waterhole kill. :D

Hey now, you have to do a little less terribly in the CCIW fantasy BB league if you want me to mail you cookies. :P I suppose on the plus side, you did much, much better than our fellow CCIW HOFer who-shall-remain-nameless...  :D

Yeah, and I wasn't even trying. Two weeks into the conference season I couldn't even remember who was on my team. If it wasn't for Ron I would've completely forgotten that I was in the CCIW fantasy league.

If you really want to poke fun at my competitive ineptitude, focus upon how poorly I did in the CCIW pick'ems this winter.

NC a top tier team and IWU/Millikin a middle/lower tier team these days... interesting to see the rises/falls of teams over the years.  There were periods in history where IWU and Millikin were the strongest in the Midwest.
(without checking my notebook) I believe Elmhurst has a 7 game winning streak against Benedictine.  I think their last loss was in 1999, but you are right NCCalum62  that Elmhurst has had the Eagles number of late.

Jaybird,

Usee and I had this debate several years ago about NCC when they put together back to back winning seasons...and at the time I didn't agree with his outlook that you have wait until the team actually knocks off one of the biggies...or comes through with a conference title at the end.  However...I now feel the same about Elmhurst...I certaintly think they are rising...but they have to actually do it...

Quite a dramatic shift in the CCIW over the last four years....I can remember the heated discussions about the "Big Four/Little Four"...boy how things have changed.  I think its great for the league.

Washdup, agreed and (for the record) I never said Elmhurst was in the top 3 yet.  Let's face it,  EC hasn't beat Augie/Wheaton/_____  recently and remains in the upper half, but not the top "rung" of the ladder yet.  Hopefully that changes in the near future.
Yes, I when I played it was Augie/Wheaton/IWU/Millikin  in either order all 4 years.  Now Carthage and most recently NC have climbed into the shuffle, making each week very exciting.

Pizzas?  Well, I am bias buy the best pizza I ever had/will have is my Grandma's Authentic Italian Pizza.  She has 2 recipes from her Grandmother that resided in Naples, Italy.
Around here, if you like deep dish Gino's East is pretty good.  Regular pizza  Mamma Maria's is pretty good.  Lil' Caesers, Domino's, Pizza Hut- ah  no!
