Now, usee, in fairness he didn't say WHAT the surprise was - many of us thought NP would finally get their first conference win in 'forever' last year!  Probably he just meant - surprise, we're going 0-7 AGAIN! ;D

Umm... would 0-7 have been considered a surprise last year?   ???

Unlike many of you, I just hope the breakthrough isn't against my Titans - but with our recent history I would not be shocked.

Why would anyone want that?  ;)  That would be, uhh, um, uhh terrible to see.  :-X ;D

Wheaton has posted the 2007 roster on their website.  A lot of the freshman players don't have high school, height, and weight info with them yet.  http://athletics.wheaton.edu/roster.asp?path=football

Oh, what's the difference?  You guys all end up 6'4 220, run 4.4 40's and bench 400 lbs!

(Well, except for Mugsy!) ;D ;) :P Oh, and Dave Libby and Steve Ryan!

Here is a blurb about Charlie Antal, an incoming wide receiver.  Seems like a good athlete, but at a smaller school (400 students).  Hopefully he will be able to help Wheaton's woeful baseball team too....

Let's see... to make 6'4 that would taken standing on about 3-4 phone books, beyond the typical inflation of 1 inch to actual player heights.

To make 220 lbs, it would have taken around 5 of the 5lb ankle weights (attached via velcro) that were popular with the "power walkers" back in the late 70's or early 80's.

Please tell me you aren't going to "power walk" the marathon in your Richard Simmons suit and headband! :o :D

LOL.  What a scary image!

I don't plan on it... though the furthest I've run in my training to this point is 17 miles and I was significantly wiped-out.  I may need to revisit my goals and switch from finishing in 3 hours and 45 minutes to making sure I don't lose control of my bowels (like some in the Iron Man triathlons and like many, many stories I've heard about 1st trip marathoners).   :o

I wish you all the luck in the world Mugsy, but the last two posts were way to graphic for me :o
With ordinary talents and extraordinary perseverance, all things are attainable.

Mugsy, I hadn't heard those stories until one of my best friends trained for and ran a marathon a couple of years ago.   He soiled his drawers on more than one of his long training runs - but made it through the NYC marathon ok.  Good luck, and stay clean.

Mugs,

I'll wait for you at the checkpoints with plenty of water and fresh diapers!     :) :)

I like that NP are underdogs cuz we got a big surprise for everyone this year. 8)

Let me guess.......hmmm......they are going to add pizza to the home game menu?? they are switching to white cleats from black?? Maybe they are going to start putting a coach in the pressbox?? free happy meals from Mcdonalds at halftime for the visiting team? wait, I got it.....North Park has decided to give visiting teams free metra passes to get from the field to the locker room? great idea.

......ok i give up. the suspense is killing me....whats the big surprise?

by the way, donte, say hi to len vandenbos from all us wheaton fans. he is a great coach and a good man and he probably doesn't want you posting on this board.

Lest anyone forget a previous NP player appearing on this board I was able to dig this up from a little over a year ago.

I should probably mention to the NPU coaches that it might be a good idea to include a "Go ahead and read d3football.com, but don't post on it" notation on the packet that they send out to incoming recruits.

You have to love the energy and enthusiasm of 17-to-20-year-olds, but their judgment? Not so much. And I speak from hindsight as well as from observation. ;)

Ain't that the truth but I would amend your age group a little,  17-22 year olds sounds about right!   ;)
