Is the Lakeland scrimmage a combined practice and a scrimmage? I have heard two different stories. Do you have exact times? Also will it be on the game field(new turf)?

     Well, I always hate the end of summer. But, if there is a good thing about the end of summer is that it  brings the football season and some GREAT CCIW action. Good luck to all teams and hopefully you will have a relatively injury free season.
     It's been interesting reading all of your posts for awhile. Interesting predictions, etc. I'm feeling better and better about NCC repeating. It is OBVIOUS that the players have been hitting the weight room and are serious about this season. I predict a very similar finish this year to what we had last year. I don't think any team will run the table. If one does, I'll have to pick NCC, of course. Each year, they get better!!!!!
    Again, everyone have a great, safe season.

NPU is scrimmaging Chicago. Can't remember if it's this Saturday or next Saturday, though.

The NPU men's soccer team is also scrimmaging Chicago (except that in that sport they call it a "friendly", not a scrimmage), but I don't think that the two schools are making it a doubleheader.

The Vikes take on the Maroons (in real football) Thursday night August 30th at 7pm at the Holmgren Complex at NPU

Also nice to see some international flavor on the roster.  Norway and Denmark are represented.  Hope those boys can play!

It's interesting to see that there are a few international players on the roster playing defense (as opposed to place kicking).  Nils Lundgren (6'0 195) and Anders Nygaard (5'10 201) hail from Norway and Jonaton Jacobson (6'1 210) is from Denmark; all three are listed at linebacker.

So your logic is that because the NCC players were OBVIOUSLY hitting the weight room (showing they are serious about this season of course) they will repeat? Were there no Augie players working out this summer? no Wheaton players? Nobody from Carthage? For sure there couldn't have been any Elmhurst players working as hard as NCC. God forbid North Park players would take this season seriously. 

Suppose for a minute that all the top teams worked out just as hard as every other team. Then what? NCC still the OBVIOUS choice?

What, on Earth, is your problem?  Here is a guy posting the mere fact that he is excited about the start of the season and his team, and this is what you post back to him?  Tell me: was any reply to that post necessary to begin with?  I've seen many similar posts that you did not have a snappy retort to.  You state: "Suppose for a minute that all the top teams worked out just as hard as every other team. NCC still the OBVIOUS choice?"  Did Cardinaldad say anything about North Central being the obvious choice to win conference?  To me, it looks like he said; "I predict a very similar finish this year to what we had last year. I don't think any team will run the table."  What he said was obvious was "that the players have been hitting the weight room and are serious about this season."  Did he say anything about other teams not hitting the weight room?  I think not.  Did you not like the fact that he said if ANYONE were to run the conference, his obvious choice would be NCC?  (Imagine that, a dad believing in his son's team...hmmm).  This was a good-natured post with no personal attacks on anyone.  So what warrants such a condescending reply to a post like this?  Usee, I've read this board for 6 years now, 4 as a player and 2 as an alumnus, and from what I've seen, you've been a classy guy.  Your karma of 90 speaks for itself.  So why would you, all of the sudden, turn a complete 180 and blast this guy without any cause to do so?

Horrible if true, but the deepest position on Wheaton's team this year.  They have 5 or 6 guys who are players at LB.

I'd make mention of the fact that the NPU football team is simply following in the tradition of their schoolmates who play that other male fall sport in deploying multiple Scandinavians on the roster, but I learned my lesson yesterday about mentioning the "s" word in this room.
