The same ref was official in Carthage/wheaton game last year and at this years iwu/cart game.

Which is he? Ref or Official? I'm confused now. New survey. Who remembers the name of the referee at their game last week.... let alone last year?
Googled his name and there it was

cardinaldad,

EIGHT sacks!  Unfortunately not enough!

Thanks for the well-wishes for next Saturday (though hardly unexpected from NCC ;)).  I'm sure you'll understand that I can't return the same.  While winning a share of the title after being picked 7th would be mighty sweet, I'm hoping that beating the Thunder will not be just so the Cardinals can make the playoffs! ;D  Go RedMen!

Ypsi, Just think where we would have been if the Thunder had beaten Carthage. IWU would be faced with beating Wheaton by 28 pts to win the AQ. You are better off just looking for a win and hoping for an NCC loss.  ;D ;D

At least with a 28-point win (fat chance ;D) we WOULD be AQ whether NCC won or lost (and if NCC were to lose, ANY win would do it whether you had won or lost yesterday)!  Oh, well - with your loss, if we get the AQ we are also SOLO champs.  ANY title would be sweet (especially after being picked for 7th!), but why share if you don't have to?!  (Don't tell my kids I said that! ;))

no problem ginger ;D
just wanted to be sure I looked up the right official and confirming it.  I didn't really know for sure til I saw the listing of officials and he was listed first.  You'd be more of the skipper but ginger had the red hair.   Gotta save the professor for GS.  ;D

Were you talking to me? Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I was too busy trying to make a radio out of coconuts and bamboo.

My North Region playoff projections heading into the final week ...

MIAA Champ (Olivet, Hope or Alma)
at Mount Union

Franklin
at Wheaton

Mt. St. Joseph/Capital
at Case Western Reserve

Concordia (Wis.)
at Wabash

FishHack76

If IWU wins the AQ, it looks like this ...

MIAA Champ
at Mt. Union

6. IWU
at 4. Franklin

5. Mt. St. Joseph
at 3. Case Western Reserve

7. Concordia (Wis.)
at 2. Wabash

They wouldn't match Mt. St. Joseph and Franklin up because they're in the same conference

FishHack76

If NCC wins ...

MIAA Champ
at Mt. Union

NCC
at Franklin

Mt. St. Joseph
at Case Western Reserve

Concordia (Wis.)
at Wabash

So basically I think the CCIW gets only the AQ in. Wheaton would definitely have a shot for a Pool C bid if Mt. St. Joseph and Capital both lose. I think the Thunder would get in over Wittenberg even with two straight losses.

Redmen96

Wow the Patriots are still undefeated.  It is possible they could have a perfect season, sorry Wheaties.
We will always be REDMEN

Haven't been by in a long time but I had to check in to say "Congratulations" to the Redmen and Coach Rucks on their stunning victory at Wheaton!

Both North Central and IWU played a very hard fought game, and obviously NCC made more plays and did what they had to do. There is a large amount of talent on both the teams and it showed during the game. The thing that stood out most to me however was the lack of sportsmanship shown by the NCC team. Obviously this was an intense game and emotions were flying and people get caught up in the game, that stuff is to be expected. There were a number of times however when a NCC player would make a good play and continued to taunt an IWU player after the play. For example, after converting a long first down run Fanthorpe got up and flipped the ball down to the IWU player who made the tackle and taunted him. Also Bo Osburn injured his arm in the first half and was in some pretty intense pain but continued to play during the second half, but was jeered at by the NCC players even after the game was over and the teams were shaking hands as they called him some pretty disrespectful names that I won't repeat here. There were also jeers from fans as the IWU team was walking to their locker room after the game.  In my opinion NCC showed the least amount of class and sportsmanship of any team thus far in the conference. The CCIW is supposed to be a high-class conference and each team should be showing the proper respect for the other teams in the conference. However it may happen I really hope that NCC does not get a big to the playoffs because I would be ashamed to have that type of play representing the CCIW. It is a real shame that such a good team is overshadowed by a classless attitude. And shame on an IWU grad for allowing that type of behavior from his team.

Well, Mr. Joe Duffy, #48, I'm sorry that you had your feelings hurt after a loss.  Sour grapes isn't going to make you feel any better.   Could you have made a couple of plays for your team instead of crying in a message board about "a classless attitude"?   Are you upset because your ax had to go home without another team crossed out?  I think it's a shame that your coach let's his players come on here and cry after a loss. THAT'S an embarrasment!  Your coaches halfway out on the field crying to the officials wasn't unsportsmanlike?  You guys should be taking pleasure in the great turnaround to your season and a chance to play for the conference championship!  Here's hoping for a Weenie win and a "big" for the Cardinals!

Can't get past CardinalAlum.  Titan0507's post did reek of disguntled player who rarely sees the playing field.

Of course the obligatory denial will come next... "no I'm not" ::)
