Ittersagen with huge hit on what should have been 4th down... IWU kicking FG on 5th down.

Pete is having a huge game so far...

Mr. Ypsi

Whether 4th or 5th down ( ;D), the FG still counts!  7-3, Wheaton.

Since they didn't count the play at all, perhaps a time out before the play?

Wonder if they'll get the story at halftime.

That is the only explanation, since it sounds like it was clearly an INT and then when they said it wasn't they didn't move the down marker.  Good call Mr. Ypsi.  Hopefully we'll get a clearer explanation later...

Yes... but if it wasn't a timeout, why did they discount the INT?  The FG wouldn't count then...

Wheaton 7 - IWU 3 at the half.

Very exciting game, well played game thus far... (minus the officiating).

Mugsy

Pretty much what you'd expect... the key players are making the big plays.

Dunlop for IWU... Ittersagen and Bradley for Wheaton.

What?  You got to be kidding?  What the heck happened to the Carthage defense?

Makes me glad Wheaton got NCC earlier in the year... sounds like they may be the best team in the CCIW right now.

This season has been nuts!

it could just as easily been that way for wheaton but they couldn't handle the carthage blitz.

Wheaton announcers claim they found out what happened on the overruled INT by Wheaton.  Sounds like it should still be 7-0.

It was an inadvertant whistle before the INT happened.  I'm not sure what an official is doing blowing a whistle in the middle of a play...  Blowing it too early in the middle of a tackle... ok.  But while the ball is in the air on a pass?  Inexcusable.
