Congrats to IWU on a hard fought win and improbable CCIW championship.

My heart goes out to the Wheaton team and staff who gave their all despite huge adversity... but it was too much to overcome in the end.

I really wish they could have at least taken a co-championship home...

Best of luck to NCC in the playoffs.  Represent the CCIW well.
Is the Wheaton game over or is there still time left on the clock?

Over.  You don't seriously think I'd post the above with time on the clock?

It's looking a little less slim now for NCC ...

Bethel beats st. johns. not good for any pool C hopefuls

Very true.  Bethel takes the AQ and SJU is an absolute lock to 'steal' a C slot.  IF NCC had a 'slim' chance, it just got impossibly slim!

Yeah, I must have had a momentary defeatist mentality about the Titans comeback!

Congratulations on the AQ - represent the conference well!

Ha, no, but I just wanted to be sure.  I don't like to celebrate prematurely.  Man, I think this would have played out way differently had Wheaton stayed healthy.  Kudos to the Thunder for hanging tough through such adversity.  Both of the last 2 games were very hard fought.  A lot of teams would have cashed it in with so many injuries!

Also shows how competitive this conference is.  There are a lot of very evenly matched teams.

Certainly makes for exciting week 10 finishes.

And with one early CCIW loss, you are never out of it.

Good Luck to NCC in the playoffs. The CCIW is certainly sending its best representative, which is a good outcome. It will be interesting to see the seedings for the playoffs.

True, but also very gracious of you.  Despite the grief you've taken from some posters about injuries, I think a healthy Wheaton really would have been on a different level than the rest of us.

I just wish that IWU could keep playing.  As young as we were at the start of the season, I'd really like to be able to replay those nonconference games now! ;)

I think IWU will be a force to be reckoned with in 2008.  Coach Eash has IWU back where they normally are...

BTW, to the coaches who picked IWU 7th, stick 'co-champ' in your pipe and smoke it! ;D

In fairness to the coaches, every poster who projected (except 'green-glasses' me!) had the Titans either 6th or 7th - and even I only had them 4-3!
