I'm sure Elmhurst will find a qualified candidate that will best represent EC.
Todd Nichols or Tim Lester were 2 guys I thought of also.  I also thought perhaps Paul Krohn might return to the HC slot.  I'm anxious to hear/find out who the Jays select.

That's also very possible on an interim basis, for 2008.

I believe CardinalAlum, usee and a few others would understand the implied sense of "buffoonery" in most of my posts.

Most??   :o :P

I totally took it the way it was meant.  Complete 'buffoonery"!

Yikes, I'm out of practice in my posting.  I walked right into that one.  Did I tee it up enough for you?

On Friday, the Eagles signed Studebaker to a four-year deal.  Hope he does well in training camp next month.

Any idea on the specifics?  Guaranteed money?

there is no guaranteed money for a 6th round pick. the going rate for Andy is an 80-100k signing bonus and basic 4 yr contract at league minimum which is somewhere near 380k for year 1 and up to 500k or so for year 4. standard incentive clauses usually include bumps for awards, starting, playing time, etc.

I would bet Andy's deal is along these lines.

GOOD FOR ANDY!   I think that is just great for him, Wheaton and the CCIW.  I have not met the young man but everything I have read and heard he is just a straight up fine young individual.

Remember the only guaranteed money in these deals is the signing bonus. Andy will not get his base salary or any incentive unless he makes the regular season roster, then you get a pro rata piece of it over the 17 weeks I believe. During training camp I think they give players a nominal stipend each week.

It has been quite an off season for Coach Rucks....

http://www.kenoshanews.com/article_comments/view_comments.php?articleNum=3154879

When I first heard I about O'Boyle and DeBaker I was not sure of that move for these young men.  After reading about their decisions they have the conviction and desire and I wish them nothing but God Speed.

It has been an interesting off season for the Red Men for sure.  As Einstein said, "In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity."  I think you can relate that to football and the situation they are in now.  I have some real positive feelings about this year for the Red Men.  New O and D coaches, new player positions, new turf.

OK one more quote:

Now that hopefully completes a tough offseason for Carthage!   Not quite understanding the timing of these two.  Were grades or graduation going to be an issue?

Overall there have been some interesting events in the off season for the CCIW.

1. Numerous coaching changes, both at Head Coach and Coordinator levels.
2. Extreme scheme changes - see Augies move from wing-t to spread.
3. Significant personnel notes - some players returning for 5th year, others leaving early.

Should be some good dialogue and discussion in the coming months when more people return from the off season posting hiatus.

Wow... just noticed somewhere along the way I lost 400 or so posts.  Last week I went over 2200 posts and now I'm at 1880 or so.

Back to All-Region instead of All-American. :-\

For clarification, where?

I'm not seeing anything new on the front page.  I forced refresh to make sure I'm not using a cached page.
