Oh my gosh, that's the funniest thing I've seen on the board in a long time.  K+ to Mr. Sager if i had the ability.  I actually tried the Jedi mind trick at Blockbuster to get them to wave my $1.25 restocking fee, but it didn't work.  Guess I still need to hone my Jedi powers...

Bluejay, I had asked you this in a e-mail but I think you misunderstood what I was asking. I had heard rumor that Elmhurst had a change there  D- Coordinator but did not want to come out on the board untill I was sure. Coach Nichols is no longer the D-C for the Bluejays. He is listed as assistant coach overseeing Special teams and Safeties. Coach Adam goes from O Coordinator to D- Coordinator. Linebackers and there is nobody listed as Offensive Coordinator so I am going to assume that Lester will take over those duties. Not sure why such a shake-up but I am certain that Coach Lester knows more than I do.

Hi Comet,  I did not know/hear about this so thank you for the info.
I assumed once I heard Lester was appointed HC, that he would have (at least a few) new faces come with him to EC and there would be a (potential) rearrangement.

I don't know what to expect this year.  My heart wants them to be attain that 7 win mark (or better obviously), however with the coaching change(s), graduation of 18 seniors,  I think this is going to be a very difficult year.

IMO, anytime you have a new coach there is a 2-3 "transition" period where you either stay at the same level or decline a bit,  until the new coach has had a few years to recruit, administer his policies, etc.

I also hope EC has a scrimmage scheduled to get a few of the cob webs and shakiness out of the way.

Jaybird, They do have a schrimmage against Lakeland. I will get back to you on info of when and where. We are moving my son in to his house this weekend so I should know all the details of the schrimmage by Monday.

preseason game vs the steelers.....

Studebaker with a nice tackle at the end of the 3rd quarter and the announcers followed it with a 15 second blurb with his college stats and referencing Wheaton,   pretty solid.

he also lined up at D end early in the 4th quarter

I'm watching the Eagles-Steelers preseason game and Andy Studebaker is playing for Philadelphia.  He just deflected a pass, which led to this exchange...

PBP: "Andy Studebaker is the first player ever drafted from Wheaton, a small college.  Where is Wheaton?"

Color: "It's in Wheaton, Illinois.  And the interesting thing about Andy Studebaker is..." <gets distracted by replay>

I hope Studebaker makes another play so the color guy can finish the story. :)

I thought Andy looked pretty good. he made a few tackles and deflected the pass you mentioned. looks like he even got a few snaps at DE in nickel situations.

Seems like this Eagles writer was impressed by Andy last night, but also references his struggles in changing positions.  Bullet point is about 3/4 of the way down the article. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/news/Story.asp?story_id=15826&spadaro=1

This is exactly the struggle Andy is up against.  Learning to cover, especially in the NFL, for a DE is a challenge.  No one has questioned his physical ability or his desire.  It's a question of whether or not he can learn to cover TE's and RB's or gain enough weight to play DE.

The bullet matblake refers to:
QuoteAndy Studebaker showed up to play. He was a demon on defense, all over the field on the blitz and against the run. I don't know if he can cover anybody yet, but Studebaker sure is a great athlete and stirs things up.
