D3 stats on the NCAA's site are dependant on schools or conferences reporting the info

The D3 td leader is from Carthage, which suggests IWU didn't turn in their stats.

You can find all the stats here
http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/mainpage.jsp?year=2008

you have to mess around a little to find the d3 stuff.  The FBS stats are the only ones I'm confident have all the data.

FWIW some guy from Michigan Tech has 12 TD's as well, so with the given info, 12 is leading all of NCAA.

Found it under "points responsible for" - Kraig Ladd indeed leads with 12 TDs, though some had more TDs per game.

This weekend I think there are going to be a couple of runaway games and a couple of close games in that the two teams are pretty even.  I'll start with the runaway games.  I think Wheaton is going to have no problems with the Dutch, as I think Hope is in the building stage while the Thunder are built and firing away.  North Central should beat Olivet by 14-21 points as Olivet's rush defense was pretty light against Elmhurst.  I think Sulo will have a big afternoon.  I also think Elmhurst will make it 6 straight over Chicago as the Bluejays are playing well.  I had some doubts going into the season about Elmhurst, with their losses to graduation, but have been pleasantly surprised with the kids filling those vacancies.

Benedictine/North Park  whoa.  IMO this is a toss as both teams seem to be pretty even.  I think this game is won on defense and who's D is going to create the turnovers.

I don't know if you all noticed but last week the CCIW went 5-0 with a perfect week for only the 3rd time ever.  I think there's a strong chance that they might get a second perfect week this weekend.

I find it interesting that you think that NCC will beat a team by 14-21 points that Elmhurst beat by 17.    ???

That's why we love the jaybird, wearing the blue tinted glasses.  I wish that I were as an optimistic person as Mr. 79. usee once stated on the basketball board that jaybird often begins "Elmhurst has a real chance to win this game because......"

well if it's on the basketball board then jaybird is justified in his optimism - and "Elmhurst has a real chance to win this game because Mark Scherer is their coach."

Good coaches, put good teams on the floor.  It's no coincidence that Elmhurst has been a conference contender in basketball almost from the first day he arrived - he's a good coach.

go get'em jaybird - don't take any "barf" from these whiners.

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

I think 79 jaybird is just being nice toward Olivet. I personally think North Central will win by 28+. Any Takers?

Gotta love jaybird's exuberance over his team...  ;)

He has had a tendency to lump Elmhurst in with the CCIW contenders early in the season.  Particularly when they start out 3-0 against weaker non-conference opponents. Jaybird gets all worked up in anticipation and begins proclaiming "this team has a real chance if...."

Only to come crashing down to earth...  :-\

Exhibit A:  2007
Elmhurst starts out 4-0, even starts getting mention by D3 writers... then loses 4 straight to the CCIW contenders (Augustana, Wheaton, North Central, IWU).

Exhibit B: 2006
Elmhurst starts out 4-0, then loses 3 of 4 to the CCIW contenders (Augustana, Wheaton, North Central).

Exhibit C: 2005
Elmhurst starts out 5-0, then loses 4 of last 5 games to the CCIW contenders (North Central, Wheaton, Augustana and Carthage).

One of these years, jaybird... but I just had to give you a little ribbin' on this.

Mr. Ypsi

Oh, man, what a quandary!  I'm still partial to the d3football.com poll, but IWU #24 (with 168 points) vs. 2 points ... I'm torn! ;D

letsplay2

North Park has 7 points... what!?!? I'm just going to ignore that poll after seeing that
