I doubt it's your computer, I haven't been able to get the WJBC webcast to work all afternoon.  If you still want to listen, you can try the IWU student radio station:

WOW!  HUGE play for the Titans!

With Carthage driving to take the lead, IWU commits pass interference in the end zone, giving the Redmen 1st down at the IWU 13-yard line.

Two plays later, Titan DB Roman Hunter intercepts the Carthage pass to kill the drive!

Carthage continues to move the ball on the Titan defense, converting two 4th downs, scoring on a 24-yd TD pass.  The two-point conversion is incomplete.

A 4th-down pass at mid-field falls incomplete for IWU.

An impressive offensive display from Carthage, although the score really doesn't show it.  They had 444 yards of offense, 326 of which came through the air.  Penalties in the red zone really hurt the Red Men.  This young group has some things to iron out, but when they do, they will be exceptionally dangerous, IMO.

From "live stats"-----IWU had the ball, 1st and 10 on the Carthage 37 with about a minute and a half remaining. Three incomplete Ladd passes with the 3rd one resulting in an intentional grounding call moving the ball back to the Carthage 49. A 4th incomplete pass in a row on 4th and 22 allowed CC to take over on downs with 49 seconds left. The CC QB then apparently took a knee 3 times to run out the clock as IWU had taken its last timeout prior the their 4th down attempt

A final from Naperville:

NCC 31
Millikin 13

I was unable to make it because I had some film to break down myself, but sources tell me that it was a sloppily played game with a lot of penalties, including several unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on both teams.  The Cardinal offensive line got a bit dinged up as well as Fanthorpe, although he was seen running around and cutting on the sidelines later on in the game, so I think that he'll be alright.

This game was basically over at halftime with NCC leading 28-6. The 2nd half was largely a bore with substitutions galore. Fanthorpe did sustain a slight knee injury, but left the field under his own power and, as indicated above was seen moving around pretty close to normally on the sidelines in the latter stages of the game. In talking with sideline personnel afterwards, his being held out of action following the injury was largely precautionary, and all indications point to his being back to full strength well before next week's contest. Another Cardinal injury was sustained by Welnack. The extent was not as yet know at the conclusion of the game.

There were indeed some late hits out of bounds on both sides. Overall, the Cards were penalized 11 times for 104 yards. This involves the mental aspect of the game, and must improve if the Cards are going to come out on the winning end when they face tougher competition.

An impressive performance by Wheaton today. Very sharp and crisp offensively with 1 exception. Norris has it going and Gingg has been really impressive. Rocky added 119 yds on 19 carries today and Alex Pokorny had 7 catches for 85 yds and 2 tds.

North Park's two only real highlights came with Wheaton leading 14-0 and inside the NPU 10 yd line. Herschey took the ball around left end and jumped at the 3 landing in the end zone. Problem was the ball landed at the 2 and NPU recovered. On 3rd and 5 from the 5 Shelby Wood threw a deep ball to Sam Cochiaro, the Wheaton db fell down, and the Vikings had a 95 yd TD to make it 14-0. The other was a perfectly executed fake punt that ended up with a FG attempt hitting the crossbar.

It was 35-7 at halftime, 49-7 after 2 series of the second half and the rest of North Parks yards and points came with Shelby Wood and the NPU 1st team having its way against Wheaton's 2nd and 3rd team defense.

NPU will have a hard time winning a conference game if they continue to field freshman and sophomores. I didn't see a SR. on their defense and there were only a couple of Jrs. Its hard to compete in the CCIW with underclassmen.

I really am surprised by the result in Bloomington. Congrats to Carthage. That is a big win on the road. 4 turnovers for Carthage but they made the plays they needed to make down the stretch. Very impressive for Coach Rucks and company.

Congratulations to Wheaton Coach Mike Swider who collected his 100th victory as Wheaton's head coach today. He is 100-29 in his 11+ seasons at the helm.

It's a good thing the NCC coaching staff decided to run a play in the final minute of the game instead of taking a knee and having one of their starting offensive linemen get hurt because of it.   >:(

Quoting Coach Tim Rucks on the Oct. 4 Illinois Wesleyan Win:  "This one feels good.  There was an electricity on this team today that we haven't had in a long time.  I knew this was going to be a close game, and I thought I kids just wanted this game today.  We played with a lot of emotion, and we had some great, gutty performances on defense.  We limited Martin Ceisel, who I think is the best receiver in the league, to six catches and 45 yards.  Offensively, the turnovers are still a problem.  We're trying to do something about that,  but when your defense is this good, it lifts up the whole team.  Jake Smith did a great job today.  We had the opportunity to use the shovel pass a lot today, and Jake took advantage of that.  Evan Jones showed that he's a tough enough kid to put the Campbell game behind him and forget about the interceptions.  Every week is going to be a battle like today, including next week with Elmhurst.  I like what I see, so far, with our team, and this game should add to our confidence in our ability to win close games.
