I expect Adrian to move up in the region and Trine to disappear in two weeks.
Don't expect Otterbin, Wabash or  CWR to drop either.
Any justification for this?  Just curious as to what your thought process is.
Otterbin, Wabash and CWR all seem to be solid teams who have at least done well and have played well against good opponents and crushed the "cupcakes".
Trine seems to have struggled against same opponents that Adrian and Albion have handled.  Trine has yet to play Adrian at Adrian and Albion at home.
Otterbin of course has yet to play MU and Wabash and CWR should win out.  That's why I don't see them leaving the rankings.
Makes sense, thanks for the clarification.  What about Otterbein, though?  I think they will still be ranked if they happen to fall to MUC, but don't you think that their stock will fall in the rankings a bit if that happens?  Maybe Wabash and CWR will pass them up if they both win out?

Just FYI, you cannot count out Wheaton and Augie just yet.  There are still 3 weeks to go and it seems NC/WC/AC all have a shot at the title and post season hopes still as there is a lot of football left to be played.

You're absolutely right, and Augie has been playing some pretty darn good football lately.  As I said before, NCC needs to play like they can every week from here on out.  There are no gimmes.

I did clarify if naperville wins out then Wheaton's in region ranking will come in to play and Augie will not be making it.
Otterbin may dip a little but if they win out w/only losing to MU then I don't expect them to drop below Wheaton.
Don't really care if Wabash or CWR passes Otterbin.  Nonetheless Otterbin will prob. get an at large if they only lose to MU.  I just don't see Wheaton leapfrogging any one above them other than Trine.  I was just curious if they will be ranked high enough in region to qualify for playoffs.

Nobody is counting out any of those teams.  The last two years have shown that anything can happen, BUT I do feel much better being the Hunted rather than the Hunter we have been the last couple of years towards the end of the season.   We control our own destiny this time.  Would love it if we gave Norm a good kicking this week!!   ;D

No problem - I'd expect no less.

I, of course, am hoping the same way - well, except reversed! ;D

(Though, since I still have slight hopes in pickems, my prediction likely will not reflect my hope. :()

Wheaton is in the same position that North Central was last season - the need to win out.

And, if Wheaton does win out, and North Central does lose of the final three games, it would not surprise me if Wheaton jumped over North Central. So, NCC must win the final three games.

A question though, are there any conferences that have an AQ that do not have a team in the regional top 8? That could pose the biggest threat to a second CCIW team.

NuTS

Aurora is currently leading the NAC which has an AQ.

If wheaton wins out and finishes at 9-1 it is alost a certainty they will make the playoffs. They are not an AQ candidate at this point (barring an ncc letdown) but are a solid pool C choice if they winout.

I might be wrong, but I thought that since the NAC is a new conference, they had to wait like 3 years or so in order to obtain an AQ.

As I understand it; since the NAC has been in existence for more than 2 years for other sports, they were awarded a AQ for football even though this is the first year of conference play in that sport.

A final comment.  I wasn't implying that NCC was running up the score.  I was asking if there is bad blood between the programs.  I'm new to this rivalry and was trying to understand in context the play calling that was occurring.  It seemed a little one sided for passing until the last drive.  That seemed to me to be the riskier approach to ensuring a win.  NCC was successful and played better ball.  Thanks for the discussion.

I don't know... perhaps someone from the Naperville school, which has only won 4 of the last 22 meetings has a different perspective?   ::) :P

sorry I couldn't really focus on what I was reading, I've had this ringing in my ear since saturday  :P

Oh boy... now Blitz Creed is fitting in just fine with the redbird world.  Just what we need, another smart alec.    ::)
