Seriously... the marquee with huge scrolling text is quite annoying as you are trying to ready a post.  Particularly when several posts in a row have it.  Personally I don't mind a marquee, as posters like CardinalAlum have had one for over a year.  But when it overpowers the actual content of a post... >:(

Right up there with typing in all caps, all the time.

Agreed. When someone across the room can read it, it has reached the obnoxious point.

3 CCIW players received player of the week for D3football.com this week.

D'Angelo - Elmhurst
Wenger - NCC
Pucylowski -NCC

The conference has been well represented this year.  I think that has alot to do with SID's turning in more nominations?

As far as DPOY of the year goes, this is the second week in a row that Wenger was picked as a player of the week for D3football.com and 3rd time this season (week4). The interesting thing is that for all three of those weeks he was not chosen as the CCIW player of the week. If he would have been chosen as the CCIW player of the week for the past two weeks and week four, it would have brought his total to 6 CCIW player of the weeks(out of 8 games). My point is that Wenger has been dominant is every single game that he has played this season. He has led NCC, the number one defense in the conference, in tackles every single game this season. That is just an unbelievable feat.

Wright, Wenger, Ittersagen are all professionals in their respective positions.  All 3 are worthy of DPOY in the CCIW.  I don't think it is fair to compare the 3.  They all fit their respective defenses perfectly.
I have seen Wenger and Wright in action.  I would not have either one of them ahead of each other in terms of intensity, hustle, and value.
When you have a bunch of players at the same level with the same accolades, it boils down to where their team is at in the conference.  NC is in front of Elmhurst and Wheaton, so I would guess Wenger would get the nod.  I do think Wright is worthy of All-Conference First Team status.

Well I could be wrong but I don't think anyone in question is named Neon

Just saw the weather forecast....will this be a huge
problem for the Cards passing offense?  Which
games will it be a huge factor in --- several CCIW
teams like to throw the ball?

You win! You always do!

I think there is going to be a fairly decent amount of scoring in the NC/Augie game, however in the 4th quarter, I think NC's defense stops Augie with a few clutch 3rd down halts,  which allows NC to win this game by 7-10 points.  I don't think either team runs away with this game.
Professionals... hehe,  What I meant is that the talent specialization is so crisp nowadays  that you rarely see Wright/Wenger (& others) out of position, missing their assignments, etc.

Comet 14

jaybird, I think that they are so athletic that even on the rare occasion that they are out of position they make plays anyway. I think with NCC's defense and their +11 T.O. ratio that they win by 14. I think it will be a claose game with NCC getting a late score after a turn over. With the lack of Millikin posters on the board, can someone give me a scouting report on The Big Blue?
