Usee,

The original quote was actually "second kicker on the grassy knoll."  ;)

Perhaps it's an exaggeration that they get no calls, but it is certainly a rarity when any of the close ones go their way.

Refs do not like to be abused.  Watch certain members of our coaching staff some time and see if any referee would ever want to give NCC a break!!  You've seen it firsthand.

Here we go again....but this is fact:
After the '05 Augie game, JT went to the CCIW meeting held at NCC and ripped them about the officiating during that game. Since then, NCC has been the most penalized team in the CCIW. He wishes he had never done that at that meeting because he feels that his actions continue to penalize the players even though they had nothing to do with it.
As I watch and try to e objective, it does seem like NCC is called for ticky-tack stuff, especially after big plays or at crucial times. Conversely,  I've seen NCC jerseys almost get ripped off right in front of the officials and not get a call. It is one thing to let the teams play, but it doesn't appear to be equal.
And yes, coaching staffs' actions, I believe, does affect whether the flag comes out, or stays in the pocket sometimes.

The only thing missing from your description is the shooter in the grassy knoll.....that's the biggest bunch of hogwash I have ever read. It's no wonder NCC went 10-0 with all the refs out to get them.

Anyway the evidence is there, You have not heard the last of this and that is all I can say. Again I know you may not like it but please do yourself a favor and don't tear into the topic until this travesty plays itself out. Flat out, the game was stolen.

The film has been reviewed, the results are in, North Central's defense was not offside re: last Sat's final play field goal attempt!  There was no (e.g. zero, zilch, zippo, etc.) movement prior to the snap.  The film is clear, there is no debate.  Candidly expression my opinion.....and regardless of who we 'root' for.......Short of an absolutely blatant offense, Referees should never.....ABSOLUTELY NEVER.....decide the outcome of any sporting event. This years CCIW Championship should have been decided on the field via overtime, not by an overweight, jelly donut eatin ref.  I wish congrats to all CCIW teams for a truly outstanding/entertaining season, it has been a pleasure and honor the past few years to watch the conference metamorphose into a nation leading group.  Safe and successful play wished to all participants for this weekends finale.

nccfan1, brassbell,

Does the game tape show a second kicker on the grassy knoll?

Sorry to dredge that up again, I was just struck by the irony.

New Tradition,

I am sure in his mind, "JT" is telling you just the way it happened. All I am saying is I would like to hear it from someone other than him who was there before I believe it.

you can find the penalty information in the stats on the CCIW website. www.cciw.org/football.  It's all there for anyone to see, conspirators and all .

It's something of a relief to see the fans of Red DuPage School and Orange DuPage School going at it hammer-and-tongs again, as usual. The all-for-one, one-for-all display of conference solidarity the past couple of weeks was encouraging and heartwarming, but it had a little bit of a "cats and dogs living together" kind of a feel to it. Now all we need is to have Mugsy and CardinalAlum start exchanging sniper fire again, and the world will seem like it's back to normal.

Hey, I'm not the bomb-thrower. New Tradition and cardinaldad on one side, and USee on the other, are going at it over some game film that NCC head coach John Thorne may or may not have shown at the CCIW officials meeting. All I did was comment upon their dispute, which was already in progress.

I don't throw bombs. I just enjoy the scent. :D

Not me, not this week anyway,   ;)  or as long as Wheaton stays in it.  I am a huge Wheaton backer until they put away the equipment.  I have mentioned before that I am a huge Mike Swider fan unless his team is lined up against the Cards.  He is the BEST coach in the conference and I really feel that the Thunder comes out on top this week.  They will find a way to slow Rupp down.

I agree completely.  I'll support the ENTIRE CCIW up to 8 full weeks out of the year (3 non-conference weeks and 5 post season weeks).  ;D  And although there is a healthy rivalry, I've never had a problem with anyone from Wheaton aside from the fact that they're almost TOO nice over there...   ;)

At first glance I didn't see the link and was going to quote you, and put the movie clip in from youtube.  Anyway, I now see that you've already done that.  Thank you Gregory, or do you prefer to be called Gunnery Sergeant Hartman?

Redman04, maybe we should throw Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in the hat as a potential new post name for the loser of our bet.
