Field is perfect. Two years old: field turf.  Facilities better than FC. on the HCAC board I posted a link with pics.  Both teams should be happy with the field conditions.

Not me, not this week anyway,   ;)  or as long as Wheaton stays in it.  I am a huge Wheaton backer until they put away the equipment.

I agree completely.  I'll support the ENTIRE CCIW up to 8 full weeks out of the year (3 non-conference weeks and 5 post season weeks).  ;D  And although there is a healthy rivalry, I've never had a problem with anyone from Wheaton aside from the fact that they're almost TOO nice over there...   ;)

I will always cheer a CCIW team in the playoffs, especially when they sneak in.  It just gives all teams a better chance of getting a Pool C bid going forward, whether it be next year or in 5 years.

File in the category of "it doesn't matter at all in comparison to a win on Saturday", but a number of single season Wheaton records could fall on this weekend and a few could end up in top 5.

1. In addition to a solid indication of how likely Wheaton will come out a victor, if Rocky Gingg rushes for 118 yards on Saturday, he will have the 2nd highest season season rushing total in school history at 1263 yards.

2. If Sean Norris goes for his average yardage on Saturday, he will have the 5th highest passing yardage in a single season at 3014 yards.

3. If Sean Norris passes for 3 TD's, he will set the single season record for TD passes, breaking Jeff Browns record of 30.

4. If Alex Pokorny has over 40 yards in receptions, he will break the single season record for receiving yards, currently set at 1338 yards.

5. Pokorny has already set the single season TD receptions mark at 17.  It was 15 held by Mark Loeffler.

6. If Pete Ittersagen has 5 yards in punt returns, he will break the single season record for punt return yardage, current at 451 yards.

Suprising to me that Musso didnt hold that single season TD mark.

Perhaps it's an exaggeration that they get no calls, but it is certainly a rarity when any of the close ones go their way.

Refs do not like to be abused.  Watch certain members of our coaching staff some time and see if any referee would ever want to give NCC a break!!  You've seen it firsthand.

Here we go again....but this is fact:
After the '05 Augie game, JT went to the CCIW meeting held at NCC and ripped them about the officiating during that game. Since then, NCC has been the most penalized team in the CCIW. He wishes he had never done that at that meeting because he feels that his actions continue to penalize the players even though they had nothing to do with it.
As I watch and try to e objective, it does seem like NCC is called for ticky-tack stuff, especially after big plays or at crucial times. Conversely,  I've seen NCC jerseys almost get ripped off right in front of the officials and not get a call. It is one thing to let the teams play, but it doesn't appear to be equal.
And yes, coaching staffs' actions, I believe, does affect whether the flag comes out, or stays in the pocket sometimes.

The only thing missing from your description is the shooter in the grassy knoll.....that's the biggest bunch of hogwash I have ever read. It's no wonder NCC went 10-0 with all the refs out to get them.

When did NCC fans turn into such crybabies?

Hey...not so fast...I happen to agree with USEE.  I think the whole referee conspiracy thing is a complete joke.  With that said, if a coaching staff becomes notorious for screaming at the refs you better believe you are not getting the benefit of the doubt.  There is a big difference between a conspiracy and human nature.

I know for a fact that Coach Swider & Co. will not overlook Franklin.  That is one thing about Coach Swider is that he treats every opponent, whether first or worst, like they are the toughest team yet to play.
I think Franklin will give Ittersagen a couple of chances to return the ball.  I don't see them sacrificing field position just because Wheaton has the stud horse returning kicks.  I think the Griz kick it deep, and let Ittersagen make "it" happen.
How is this high school field that the game has been relocated to?  Pat, I know Franklin is the better seed, I guess my question is- if Franklin's field is not in game day shape,  why wouldn't they play the game at Wheaton, or another college close to Franklin?  Kind of goes along the lines of Carthage a few years ago, where their press box wasn't "ready" and they were denied a home game?  Just curious but I hope the field does not hinder the play on Saturday.

Like GRIZ_BACKER said it is field turf and by the looks af the pictures I believe there will be more seating on the visitors side than they have at Franklin.

I myself always like sitting behind the endzone at Franklin's games.

Since I am the resident legal expert on the board, I find it necessary to educate the less informed members of our board regarding the definition of a conspiracy.

(720 ILCS 5/8‑2) (from Ch. 38, par. 8‑2)
   Sec. 8‑2. Conspiracy.
   (a) Elements of the offense. A person commits conspiracy when, with intent that an offense be committed, he agrees with another to the commission of that offense. No person may be convicted of conspiracy to commit an offense unless an act in furtherance of such agreement is alleged and proved to have been committed by him or by a co‑conspirator.
   (b) Co‑conspirators.
It shall not be a defense to conspiracy that the person or persons with whom the accused is alleged to have conspired:
       (1) Has not been prosecuted or convicted, or
       (2) Has been convicted of a different offense, or
       (3) Is not amenable to justice, or
       (4) Has been acquitted, or
       (5) Lacked the capacity to commit an offense.

In order to understand conspiracy you must understand intent.

(720 ILCS 5/4‑4) (from Ch. 38, par. 4‑4)
   Sec. 4‑4. Intent.
A person intends, or acts intentionally or with intent, to accomplish a result or engage in conduct described by the statute defining the offense, when his conscious objective or purpose is to accomplish that result or engage in that conduct.
(Source: Laws 1961, p. 1983.)

There are several types of intent.  There is general intent, which is simply the intent to do some physical act which could lead to any result.  Then there is specific intent, which is the intent to specifically achieve a particular result.

In laymans terms two or more people (refs) have to be acting in concert with one another with the specific intent to achieve the common purpose or common scheme of intentionally calling penalties that are not actual penalties on North Central or the reverse...intentionally not calling penalties on each North Central opponent.  There is no way a conspiracy can be proven in this instance.
