d-train, are you going to be at the game?

No, not this year. I'm flying out of state on Friday for a week. I'll catch the Lutes the next weekend at L&C and might crash a tailgate out your way on Nov. 4th.

D-Train,
Looks like we need some more Lutes on the board!  I'm always up for a couple of post on such a great rivalry week.  I was hoping you were going to make it this weekend.  The Swiss will be open on Friday night!  Should be a great game.  If the Lutes hang onto the ball, it will be a big win.  If they don't, we could be in trouble.   I'm hoping for trifecta upsets on Sat, Lutes/Vandals/P.R.

After watching DaBears-Arizona game last night, if you are not in the "One at a Time" Frame of mind the  you need to check yourself.

I got kind of a kick out Denny Green's meltdown afterward. You don't see an NFL coach (publicly) going THAT far past the meltdown point very often.

Don't know enough about Smith to know whether he'd give such a "colorful" tirade but somehow, I just can't see Locey doing that...
{Clever sign-off goes here.}

Sure, we could always use a few more Lutes on here (actually any non-Wildcats).

P.R.?  ???  Didn't catch that one. Do you mean the other game in Tacoma?

I'm actually flying your way on Friday evening. Taking the Mrs. for a week of R&R in God's Country. We'll be back around to catch the Lutes at L&C.

About the game - I think the Lutes will have to do more than just hold onto the ball to win. I'm worried that the new 'Cat QB has gained some confidence. I know he has some weapons around him. We should be able to mount a challenge, but it would be a major upset to actually win it. We'll see. You and I both know the Lutes have more talent, better coaches, and a stronger overall program than their record indicates.

Have fun at the Swiss. Hope all is well with you.

Of course the lutes have to hold onto the ball, but D is correct- there are more than a few keys to this game. I think the lutes ability to get some three and outs is critical. Scherer may be too much for them....

Game 6 tonight- one win from the world series. Who would have thought it? Carpenter needs to get it done tonight though- no game 7 in NY for the cards.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

One one hand it just shows the coaches passion for his players and the game.  heck it was tough for me as a fan of the game to see Arizona fade away on that one.
As for the Cats there have been several comments on the performance of the boys.  As for me Im not concerned one bit about where we have been or where we are going as a program.  On one hand if we had an all Vet team and they were under performing a bad day would be a major red flag.  What I see is a young group with tons of speed and talent that is coming together.  They have a HUGE upside and in my opinion have served notice that they are a contender.  I look for them to continue to improve and peak at the right time.

See y'all on Sat

D-Yes the other game in Tacoma-(P.rider)...Are you staying in Ashton the whole week?  The Lutes are definately a better team, talent wise, than their record shows.  It's tough to win games with six and seven turnovers, unless you're da Bears.  Either way, should be a fun game to watch.  It will be my first time back since I left.

4 nights in Ashton, then 2 in Sun Valley.

Dee,
Is that you giving me Karma hits, just cause its Lute week?  Love it !!!!

It was pretty obvious the last two years the 'Cats were so much better than the Lutes that they could have played a subpar or even bad game and still won comfortably. This year they are the favored team, however not nearly as huge a favorite as recent years. They will need to play a good game to win because both Lute and 'Cat fans have seen the underdog or lower ranked (or unranked) team win in this series plenty of times, which is why the rivalry is what it is. The 'Cats should come out on top, but they need to play a solid game to get the W.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

We're headed to Sunriver in a couple hours and won't be back until Sunday. Is there anyone who would call me with a halftime and final score?

Please PM me if so. Thanks.

I think the Lute D will get some three and outs, the D seems to be playing well this season.  I agree there are more than a few keys to this game, however, if we don't hold onto the ball, the other keys won't make much of a difference.

Gig Harbor Cat

Yea you are probably right D, Its kind of hard for Mojo to come home and eat his regular dog food after a weekend of Wildcat Tailgate action.  He scored big last weekend with the beer brats and such.  He was one happy hound doggie.

Boy, I miss the PLU - UPS game. Tough to get too excited about LC, except that I hope the Loggers hang at least 30 on 'em.
