I try to listen to varied games on the weekend and these announcers are as good as I hear but it's stale when my favorite non play-by-play aside is
QuoteThere goes Barry Tucker with his standard saying "See you on the radio."

I'll take the win.

Over and out.

Off to finish the Kem Nunn book Tijuana Straits (soon to be a tv series replacing 'Deadwood') and then catch the sunset surf at San Onofre. Yesterday it was 4 ft and water temp near 70.

Any update given on Thomas injury ?

I'm in trouble now...
From the Front Page Poll

QuoteCurrent Poll
Which Top 25 upset was most surprising?

Hey! There are still more top 25 teams playing!!!
How about adding the words "so far?"

Was there some problem with the bottom vote option invoking a possible upset in a game not yet completed?

Do you complain about EVERYTHING??

Monrovia,

Thanks for the running commentary on the game, even if the result was not good.  I just got my power back on and first thing was to come to the board and back it up to the beginning of the game cause I new you Cats would be giving updates.  Almost like I listened to the game, but it only took about 20 minutes.  The Lute turnovers are brutal.  Every single week!

Hatchetman, good win for your guys!

bottom vote option invoking a possible upset in a game not yet completed?= my "so far"

Do YOU complain about deadlines and missing Monday Night Football or Major League Playoff games or bowl games that start at 9PM EST?

I understand getting the poll up because it was interesting and I understand what it's like to be treated like a footnote or an addendem.

MonroviaCat, Thanks so much for the updates of the Cats game. I passsed them on for all those within earshot at the Whitworth - Menlo game. I will post some thoughts and observation, as well as pictures later tonight or early tomorrow. Off to see a play with the family. GO Cats. Great reading all the posts

I guess, dense, for you I should do the following:

1) Leave up the poll for the game that was already over, asking who would win for another six hours following its completion.
2) Create a new poll that's going to live for just six hours, so that Dr. Dense won't be a bitch and complain.

I'm not interested in catering to you, and frankly, I'm not interested in seeing your posts anymore. You are a crank and an annoyance. I have better things to do with my life.

At the risk of being booted, I have to ask, if Pat has better things to do with his life then why does he consistently read and respond to Dens' posts?  It's like my mom always said when my brother teased me, "if you just ignore him he'll stop doing it."  Just a thought....

I don't have a choice but to read every post -- unfortunately, it's my responsibility as the moderator of the board. Consistent cranks who constantly complain make this part of the job my least favorite, and this particular crank has gotten a lot of slack over the years. His slack is up.

If he doesn't like the way I run this Web site -- and it would seem apparent from his weekly harping that he does -- then he can feel free to start his own site.

Just rolled in ladies and gentleman. SWEET game. The score didn't really tell the story... Linfield dominated this game. PLU made it interesting with several little trick plays here and there and a few good plays on O and D to score a few times....a couple in garbage time. I was very impressed with our offense. We're starting to click....very nice arrangement of play calling and great execution for the most part. Our running backs are running hard and working for yardage. The O-line is really doing a fine job of protecting the passer. Our receivers are really hanging on to the ball and running fast/hard when they get it. Sharer was dishing it out to a lot of guys. I think both interceptions were deflections/tipped balls. Pretty decent running attack also. The passing attack is so deadly now though you want to see more of it, it's exciting to say the least. Sharer is showing a lot of poise on the field. I really liked our attitude out there today...very workman like. People were hustling on and off the field and the defense seems really pumped up and ready for action, a lot of communication going on out there on d also. It was great to see Tyler Mathews, the team chaplain on the sidelines also, he seemed to be an inspiration to the team. There were alot of turnovers out there today but for the most part Linfield seemed to take advantage WAY more often than PLU did on the few we had. Our field goal kicker is awesome! He rocks! I think he had like 5 field goals and they weren't chip shots... there were a few bombs and mostly mid to long range poons....very proud of him and the whole team to get him in position. Great effort out there by the coaches also. Made me proud to be a Linfield fan! Our crowd was also louder and I think it may have been pretty even on attendance. PLU may have had a few more there but not many. We pretty much filled our side of the stands.

Light and Darkness....check this out: On the way up on 2-3 overpasses there were big banners draped over the highway...one said : WILDCAT COUNTRY and another I saw said GO CATS GO! That's getting back to the tradition of the 80's isn't it....I thought you'd enjoy that.  ;D

Congrats on the great victory today!!!  :) :)  Sounds like the O-Line did their wonderful job again today very well!! Way to go, Sean and colleagues! ;D ;D  A big thanks to Gig Harbor for keeping me in the loop with the game details as I was away from the computer this evening!!  It was very much appreciated, GHC.  I even phoned you after the memorial service, perhaps just to say that I phoned it in!!  Hope you had a longie or two for me today.  I could have used it as BC lost its 2nd straight.  :( :(   It was better than last week, but not good enough.  Now they will have to play for pride.  We will see what they are really made of!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

WOW!   What can I say?    Linfield looked awesome.    This team has improved IMMENSELY in only six weeks.    We are now truly a playoff contender.      Bring on Menlo and then Whitworth.

It appears we are getting ready to contend evenly with Whitworth, Occidental, St. John's or UW- Whitewater.    I will have my early playoff games forecast very soon.     Been studying all of the West region teams.

The defense played their best game of the year.    After those first two PLU series, our defense took over.    WOW!     Penalties are still worrisome, especially with the tough games coming.

What is distuirbing however is the weakness of the NWC.    PLU and Willamette are just weak shadows of their past glories.    We have now beaten PLU five years in a row.     Has that ever happened before?

The NWC needs to improve as a whole.    I do believe that was one reason the Wildcats had trouble with Concordia-Moorhead last year and then lost to UW-Whitewater.    We had far too many easy games in our regular season.

But, with Western Oregon, Hardin-Simmons and a much improved SOU team this year,  that has certainly not been true this year.     Now with Whitworth coming to town, that means 4 of our 9 games have been against tough opponents.

Great job done, Linfield coaches and players!     GO CATS!  GO!
GO CATS! GO!
