D-Train---so True.  I can tell you that I would love to justify the Cats into the play-offs but they blew their shot last weekend and, to be honest, maybe it is better tha their season ends after this week with no play-offs then to see them go into the playoffs and turn the ball over 6 or 7 times against a highly seded play-off team (like Mt. Union).  We had our chances and couldn't capitolize on them :(
Go Cats!

You're right that anything can happen, of course, and if UPS is on, and can contain Clark like we did, they could handle Whitworth. That could end up being a hell of a game.

As much as we'd all love to see our beloved 'Cats in the playoffs, I just don't see it happening this year either, barring some sort of miracle. Is it true that the committee likes teams that are on the rise at the end of the season? Would our TOs in the last 3 games count against us, as compared to another team that was playing really well?

Tux, I'm glad to know that wasn't you and Blue I shot down with the hose last week as you were approaching my front door.

Those more subjective things like "who's playing well" would be WAY down the list in looking for a tie-breaker scenario or something. For the most part, I think the committee is much more objective. But unfortunately that also means they can't really focus on how good the teams are who beat the 'Cats either because that is fairly subjective. How many D3 victories does Linfield have right now? 4 to CLU's 6 (and 7 or 8 for many other at-large hopefuls). Any big victories (over regionaly ranked teams)? No. Those are the criteria that are killing you.

Been walkin' in the rain, Tuxguy? As so deftly pointed out by the Foss Man the ASC was not considered in region and the National Champion was lurking in Willamette's conference.

Thanks, D-train.

When reporters would ask Ad what Linfield was going to have to do to win, his answer would be, "We're going to have to get more points that the other team."

That's what we didn't do this season.  We didn't get enough points, and after next weekend, we can look toward next season.

It was still a winning season, and The Streak is intact. There were a few years we had to worry about that. Congrats to Coach Smith on his first year.

Anyone have info on Menlo's budget and how and the heck they can travel all over with no DIII school within 400 miles of them?

No wonder they've been having 'trouble on the road' so far. They have 'so far' to go.
How does Colorado College pay? Come to think of it, those Texas institutions, while in the same state, go 400 easy.

Yeah, how do these teams afford it??? Get this, during the last two seasons alone Colorado College has travelled to California, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Alabama. Do some of these schools have fewer male sports so that more money can be allocated to the football travel budget?
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Walking in the Rain, yep!  8)
Only good thing is, my house is on top of a hill, and it doesn't look out at the ocean lapping at my door!  :o
Are they showing the house's falling into the  rivers and ocean  on the news down there. Need any Water? just happen to have a few extra drops if you need some!!

Working on the arch as we speak! Lets see, was that 2 or 3 of each?  ;D You knew I was born in the land of fruits and nuts didn't you?

By the way, until they announce the seedings, we still can have hope! You Never said I had to be realistic did you?  ;) ;)

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Pretty good predictions Monrovia. Thankfully UPS got to do all their Senior Game stuff last week and against LC, so they won't need to worry about playing their seniors that much.

Interesting H-man--if my predictions were pretty good then why are yours all the oposite (except for the Linfield game)? :) :) :)

I said they were pretty good....doesn't necessarily mean I agree with them. I also think hamburgers are pretty good...but I'd eat pizza over hamburgers any day of the week.

By the way, very high marks go to hatchetman75 for predicting a UPS win over Whitworth. The man is obviously a genius.

:-* Love you too, OxyBob.

For the Linfield fans on this board, I'd like to get your opinion regarding scheduling of D3 opponents in the future. Obviously, it's proving to be a factor for playoff selection. What about Chapman, aren't they still a independent?
Since Colorado College will be a new member of the SCIAC next year, would
they be more open to the idea? Otherwise, I guess we'll have to wait and see
if Pacific will bring back football.

D O.C.

Hey Tuxguy and Foss....have you gone back east and checked out where the hope lies?
W&J is 8-1.
Our best new friends at Bethany have the game at home but are coming off a 6-44 away loss.
Week before that they triumphed 21-17 away, lost 13-49 and 15-41 away. Hmmm, only 4 home games.

I do not care to see their injury report.

Colorado College is joining the SCAC, not the SCIAC.

Steel Curtain, I believe Colorado College will be joining the SCAC (Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference), not the SCIAC next year.
