Congratulations to the Linfield players who received All-Northwest Conference recognition. Good Job and Well Done.
Thank you for a great season of football. I wish the graduating seniors all the best.

pineconefan,

Tell me that wasn't you who dinged me karma..... And After all the fun we've had on both  NWC boards?
It's a good thing I no longer have feelings or I would be hurt right now  ;)   ;)
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Tuxguy - All I know is I've never been given the privlege of +/- karma (I think it takes a lot more postings than I've got).

I don't think any of the Whitworth fans do yet.

Must be someone within the Linfield family...

I'll try and not going into the tully thing too much (I don't want to say anything I shouldn't  ;)).  On one hand I don't think tully is nearly as good a WR/Return man as Hazenburg was.  I also think their are other guys on the Whitworth team that are more capable than him at what he does on the offensive and (especially) the special teams side of the ball.  On the other hand, he is a big, and finally after a few years physical, kid who can catch the ball.  Believe it or not people scramble around a little bit when he is out on the field and I like how it does that to a defense.  It would be one thing if every time he went in it was going to him or Clark was looking for him exclusively, but its not and as long as it stays that way I'm OK with it.

Gotta love people who take sports too seriously.  In honor of that Texas father, I am going to run out onto the field this weekend after the first disagreeable call and proceed to assault the ref.  After I am done with that I'm gonna go back into the stands, find OxyBob and Tooth and beat them up too simply for being fans of the other team.   I've been to prison once and I'm not afraid to go back.

I feel that same type of void I felt a few years back when we missed the playoffs!  :P I think that next year's motto was "Leave no Doubt". What are some of your suggestions for next year's motto from a fans point of view?..... :'(

I blame those darn Oxy fans, Bob and Tooth...They're always trying to get under people's skin.  Those underachieving Tigers!

I hear you, Blue. Having to stay home sucks. I don't see that happening next year.

Hey 509Rat, you've got some good cartoons there. Is that a skill you picked up in prison?

Was anyone else surprised at how many Menlo players got All Conference honors?

I was surprised by the second team offense. 5 players? That's not exactly an intimidating unit.

Just thought you NWC guys would like to hear more of the story on that coach in the infamous video you are talking about.  That happened in the town where I am a high school athletic director.

The coach involved was reprimanded for his tactics in one of the local Pop Warner leagues last year.  He couldn't handle the sanctions and formed his own unaffiliated league this year.  Looks like the pressure of being the commissioner and coach at the same time got to him. ::)

Here is the local news story from the Corpus Christi Caller-Times:

Corpus Christi police were bombarded with phone calls from media outlets from across the country Tuesday after a video of a local peewee football referee being attacked by a coach during a game earlier this month surfaced on the Internet.

"We've been getting calls from all over the nation about that - ABC, NBC, Fox News. You name it," said Capt. John Houston, adding that the incident is under investigation.

Houston said he began fielding numerous calls about 2 p.m. Tuesday from the media after the video appeared on several Web sites.

The amateur video, taken at a Nov. 4 game at a Southside park, shows the coach, whose identity was not released by police, punching a referee after he was asked to leave the field for using profanity.

"The coach had been warned several times about cursing on the sidelines. When the referee ejected him from the game, that's when he rushed him," Houston said.

The referee was tackled and knocked unconsciousness briefly but not seriously injured. Within moments parents and other officials became involved in the scuffle - some trying to end the confrontation and others contributing to the chaos.

"Parents from both teams joined in. We have four separate police reports from people," Houston said.

Investigators plan to meet with officials from the District Attorney's Office this week to determine if the coach and at least one other man involved in the scuffle will face charges.

Assaulting an official during a sporting event is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by as much as a year in prison and a $4,000 fine, Houston said.

Last month marked the start of mandatory training classes offered by the city aimed at promoting good sportsmanship at youth sports league events among adults.

The class, which certifies adult family members to attend youth athletic events on city property, requires participants to watch a video in an attempt to prevent confrontations.

Under the City Council-approved guideline, at least one adult family member must attend the course before the child participates in any sport.

Everyone in our town is feeling quite embarrassed about this.  I am not sure but I think he is in some serious trouble !!!!  ;)

Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

I was surprised #94 and #92 for Linfield didn't make 1st team defensive ends. Both of those guys are sticks.

I was surprised by the number there. Having seen 6 of Menlo's 10 games there were three players I was truely impressed with.
Mahasin caused excitement every time he touched the ball on a kick return. Teams started squibbing and generally kicking away from him.
Larnell Ransom ate up offensive linemen. When Menlo was on D, he was definately noticed.
I told Keith Marin's dad as we parted after the last home game that his son would be the 2nd team TE. Marin was the key to Menlo's offense.

I am so busy moping I forgot to congratulate Whitworth on an undefeated season.
