By the by Wildcat 11...thank-you for the Christmas present of all your video work. Spending Saturday the 16th without power must have made one feel...well, powerless.

Thanks...not having power made me do a few things I usually don't...like pick up a book.  That book was actually the Sweet Season.

Suggest you leave out any reference to the johns since LINFIELD got no mention in The Sweat Season.

Not sure why Linfield would get mentioned in a book about the 1999 season.  Did I miss something?

Blue,

It's tough to tell from the video because you have the crowd going crazy, air horns going off, etc, etc.  If you watch the video you see three of the officals stay right on top of the play....I don't see any of the officals waving their arms as if the play is dead....they just stay right on the play.  My biggest beef is not if there was a whistle blown, if the forward progress is stopped...it was the handoff.  I didn't have the best angle but I swear the hand off was a forward latteral and not taken from behind the play.  But what do I know I was high up in the stands that game.  Still a crappy way to end the year for a team that could have gone all the way.

Wildcat11...can you answer my question about whether you can advance a field goal attempt for a TD like that? Yes...and now that I see the video again it looks like the guy that got the ball was down field from the lineman who originally had it so it would be a forward lateral unless they have changed the rules from the last time I read it.

You can advance the field goal attempt if the ball did not pass the line of scrimmage.

Thanks Pat.....I'm assuming that applies to a punt/drop kick also...and a forward pass thrown with your foot also? Now I'm sure someone will do a scientific study as to whether the ball passed the line on that play or not from watching the video... ;D That should be included in the movie deal.

From the "kick in the balls" department comes this bit of news:

Central's 'Miracle in the Mud' featured in new book

Fantastic...I'll be sure to rush out and buy a copy to burn.  The link above even has an audio link from the Dutch radio call from that game.  I almost puked up some egg nog listening to that.  brutal.

Reid Evans...I hope you don't get anything you wanted for Christmas.

I can't believe you guys are still talking about that play.... Here's hoping you guys all have a Merry Christmas and a few more Alzheimer's moments in '07... :)

Merry Christmas To One and All!!!

Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is another 6-7 TE and a strong-armed QB who can run like a RB for another four years.

Thanks.

Happy Holidays to all NWC fans.  Peace on Earth and Good Will to all!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
I HOPE I DON'T GET COAL THIS YEAR, AS I HAVE BEEN NICE NOT KNOTTY.
;)
Anyway, I saw it as bluenote said, but as we all know at this level, the officiating can be sometimes less than top notch.
Case in point, before we got the extended goal post, during one of the playoffs in the early 80's I was walking behind the south end zone heading to get a Catdome hot dog, when the Cats scored a TD. On the extra point try I stopped to watch it sail through the uprights. Well it was wide by about a foot, when all of the sudden the ref's look at each other, shrug there shoulders at each other and raise the hands signalling a good kick. Interesting!

You all have a safe and happy day tomorrow.
Like Tez18, I too wish for a conference Championship and a run to the Stagg next year.
Now I better put out the fire so Santa doesn't get burned!!!

As Trailblazer joel presbella said before a game  ...."HAPPY CHRISTMAS"
Classic! ;D
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Even though the inevitable will happen and my karma will take another hit...Merry Christmas everyone, and here's to hopefully getting multiple NWC teams into the playoffs next year!

I'm sitting in San Diego watching the Hawaii Bowl; ASU vs. Hawaii. Colt Brennan just threw his 54th td pass for the year. The announcers said he tied the NCAA record for td passes in a season.

What?
