Tux,   I searched the internet N/R for your photo to no avail.  Perhaps it was because you weren't holding a Teryiaki Beef Stick in one hand and a "cool one" in the other.  At any rate I'm sending you a + Karma just for getting your mug shot in the paper.....I'm certain you were flying Purple and Cardinal in the  photo.

Check the Connections section from Feb. 10. They are the main attraction, and continue to an inside page. The online version normally doesn't include all the pictures, which would be too bad in this case.

A little recruiting news...

According to the Oregonlive.com recruiting pages it looks like McMinnville's Josh Armstrong has provided Linfield with a "strong verbal" commit.

If this is true then Linfield just landed a real gem.  This kid is a straight up stud and could have an immediate impact for the 'Cats.  Well see if this holds true.

Thanks for the link. I'd heard that WOU had recruited a good class, and it looks like that was right. Geez!
That's great news about Armstrong. He'll be an asset, that's for sure. There are still lots of undecideds out there as well. It would be nice to get a sweep of the Cottage Grove kids.

You'd need to check the MIAC board for election updates. JR normally runs for judgeships, but the governor's wife is a Bethel graduate, as you may have read, so that hasn't worked out.

Hey, when are you going to come back out here for another football game, Dutchy? Next fall, maybe?

It would be great to keep a local boy with the talent of Armstrong at home. A great(life) story leading up to his Sr. year as well.  A power runner, maybe a Russell Type? Time will tell!

COCO  & WC64......thanks for the kind words, a friend leaked the story of us to the press, (not bluenote)  and it is almost 2/14  . I had at least 5 people stop in today and give me the paper, I love this town!!!!  They( the local yokel) only missed a few Quotes and dates  but that's news reporting I guess..... You guys think that picture shows some hair,  you should see my  student body cards, which I still have,....(surprise)... just to remind me of the hair I used to have of course. Those were the days!

The only thing that JR hasn't posted is the recipe for that famous burger.... well, that, and he doesn't talk much football, either.... 

I'd love to come back out for another game....I wish Central and Linfield would play one another more often....

I think a pre-season game with Linfield would be fun. We like to schedule competition early. I would imagine that Central and Linfield both have decent travel budgets. I'll have to suggest it to our AD when I see him. Linfield always seems to have room on the schedule....
