Thought Brett played pretty well.  Would have like to see him put it in the end zone on the sneak but overall he threw some great passes and there were a couple that I know he would like to have back.  I'm slanted but I think Brett performed much better than Pickett.

It has to be tough to get into a game rhythm when you're playing time as a QB is only in quarters but that's NFL Europe for you.  Have to make the best of the time you have.

N-R News Geek...I'll have video clips of Brett up on Wednesday.

It was late when I saw it but the NFL Europe announcers were fairly lame. Didn't they have the 'Cats beating Rowan in the title game????

D O.C.

THAT never happened - not even "the real championship game."  ;)

WC11,

I watched the game as well and agree with your assessment.  The stats speak for themselves as BE truly took the honors. Pickett 8 of 16 for only 57 yards with a long pass of 12 yards.  Brett on the other hand was 9 of 16 for 108 yards with a long one of 30 yards.  Had a couple been a little more accurate and the receivers caught a couple in their hands he could have had an outstanding day for playing only 2 quarters.  Not a bad start for the first "half" game of his professional career!!!

Camcat, Thanks for the translation..........
It sure was fun watching the #5 on the field again. :)
I think we were watching some players trying to make the NFL, and some announcers trying to make it in the T.V Booth. Just my opinion!

I like do some of the Euro Football rules........a +50 yard FG is 4 points. And if you want to watch a fast game, starting the clock when the ball is placed will do that. (thats not one that I liked).

Interesting to see 2 Oregon raised QB's go at it. Brett from Lake Oswego and Lulay from Regis High School in Stayton.......... Have 2 Qb's from Oregon ever played against each other in an NFL game before?
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Yeah, I too watched the game and think that the best news for BE is that Pickett looked so terrible. I agree with most everything said, I thought that BE showed good arm strenght and poise for not playing a real game in so long. He did have a few passes that he missed on, but usually it was because the ball was slightly off- not a "who in the heck was he passing that too?" kind of pass. Not a bad start overall.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

BTW, Thanks PC for the nice info on Elliott on the front page.

TDT, I may answer your request later this summer and post up an objective tape form the 2002's 7 point "beatdown".

Touchdown Tommy

Enough of all the warm and fuzzy Wildcat dink touches 11.  How bout some "objective" video reporting?  Maybe some footage of the Johnnie beatdowns you guys have received....

Awesome video of the 2006 S.O. game.
Keep 'em coming!
By the way.... the first player standing on the left side in the opening shot, #75, is my son Sean Horning.
Brought a tear to my eyes. I'm really going to miss watching him play. At least we can fly up for home coming this year.
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Tux,

Don't mention it.  If you've got an old original autographed copy of Mein Kampf in German around and you want me to translate it for you just let me know.  Never having ever set foot in a German class (I don't know German from Swahili) it's amazing how dangerous a guy can be just pasting a quote into the Babel Fish translater.

Thanks a lot for putting this together. It's good to see him play again.

Announcers sure do like to mention "tiny Linfield College," don't they?

Coco,

I picked up on the same thing.  The announcers also used that line when Brett played in the pre-season game.  Maybe we should send them a p.r. packet with some on air one liners.....like "BE from Linfield a small college football powerhouse for decades", etc.
