In all due respect... but perhaps the midnight sun has tampered with your equilibrium, WC64.  8)
I suppose if you got shellacked in a home/home series but you won the rest of your Division III games handily it would still carry some weight for the playoffs considering the opponent.

I sure would not want such a game 1st on the schedule. I prefer the dread Springfield or the feared Wilkes.

Maybe a meeting in the semi-finals of the NCAA playoffs with THE CHAMP some time would be more preferable.

Here are some interesting open date Sept. 6, 2008:

Plenty of good teams to sharpen up for the NWC run ---  if we will travel and they do likewise.

Michael Allan had 1 catch for 18 yards in the Chiefs pre-season opening loss to the Browns 16-12.  CBS didn't air the game on the west coast and I don't have NFL network so I don't have any other info.  But I'd be willing to bet that his next blog focuses on his NFL debut.  Hopefully, the Chiefs get a QB by the time Gonzalez retires  ;D

Several of us on the NWC board liked to make picks last year and after checking out the other pick'em threads, decided that I will try to keep one up for the NWC. This is a straight pick the winners. No point spreads needed. If you wish to make comments or predict the scores, feel free to do so as it could lead to some interesting conversation on this thread. Soooo, here is the NWC Pick 'em thread.

Thanks for doing the Pick-em Cawcdad.  I've been lurking on the board during the off season but have not had much to contribute.  Was up in the Seatac area this past week for a wedding and was quite sad that the wedding couldn't have been a month later....  Still, I can't wait for the season to start!  Hope to be able to catch a bunch of Cat games via the net like last year!  Any news out of the camps?  Also, any news on our own BE and what he's doing now that the Euro leauge is done?  Is he in the Chargers camp or what?....  O.k....that's all for now.

Ah..answered my own question--just found a pic with BE in it from the training camp.  He's wearing #8 it looks like.
Go Cats!

Desert Cat, Top Cat, Cam Cat.......where are you???  Only 25 days 'till kickoff....time for you guys to start getting the boys worked up.....the off season is over, camp starts in a few days and it's time for the Cat fans to start the rally for 2007.

Will 2007 be a deja vu of 2002 and the Cats LEAVE NO DOUBT.....I think so!

Strike Up The Band.....the fun is about to begin!! :-*

I'm here. I'm glad to see you are leading the charge. I specifically checked in to see what happened to Bret Elliott since NFL Europe imploded. I'm glad to see he's still wearing a Chargers uniform.  He is one of the few players you could not click on to find out more info. about him.  I'm wondering if there will be some replacement farm type league where he can get some more experience.

I would guess we will likely have a better season than we had last year.  Again though I see we have our two toughest games right out of the chute starting off the year. Let's hope we can get off to a good start. Are you coming down for the Hardin Simmons game by chance?

Found the box score from KC's game.  No receiver had more than two catches, so it looks like they really tried to spread the ball around.  So in that context, 1 catch for 18 yards by Mike was a pretty good showing.

"As we left the stadium that final time we each had strands of cardinal and purple thread attached to our inner-most core which have kept us stitched together for decades.

Those Linfield colors have been woven into a vivid tapestry of life. It depicts the images of friendships that were forged in the crucible of a sport that guarantees nothing, demands everything, but pays huge dividends in friendships gained.
Our tapestry is a dynamic work of art. The vignettes change with our stages of life and recently a new scene was added. A group of us old footballers gathered at a Hillsboro restaurant to support one of our thread bearers, "Cactus Jack" Ostlund as he battles the Big "C."

Really Cool.....

Just in case any of you missed the article linked by D.O.C.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Cam Cat,
Glad to hear you are "in training camp" getting ready for the upcoming season.  I've booked my reservations for Homecoming Weekend but it looks like in spite of my best efforts I'm going to miss the Hardin-Simmons game.
Seems as if though Mrs. '64 pulled my hall pass and has me booked for a black tie affair that weekend (maybe I'll wear a purple tie in honor of the Cats).  The good news is that maybe I can trade the HS game for a playoff game at the end of the season.

WC64,

Did I hear ......Black Tie Affair! ;D
Why that's right up my alley.
Let me know if you need a Purple Bow Tie, just happen to have a few, and would be happy to send you one on the House. (or is that like a bribe?) Any way, let me know.
The Boys show up Friday, and hit the field Saturday. It's about Time!

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!
