Wishbone?? I believe that when I see it.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

On Brett Elliott:  He still has a shot at getting picked up by another team or making the practice squad for the chargers (or another team).  A lot may happen in the next couple of weeks...His odds with the chargers were pretty slim anyway with 3 QBs ahead of him.

If he decides to coach he'll probably end up at OSU with the rest of the Linfield Alumni. :)

Go Cats!

Yeah...I'm more of a fan of Hidden Valley Ranch myself...

sidenote:  George Fox is going to be pushing forward with a huge renovation of their outdoor facility (they're terrible) but the line that caught my eye was this:

Although no plans are imminent, the complex is being designed to allow for the possible addition of other sports, including intercollegiate football and lacrosse.

My thought: At first I was down on Pacific and maybe Fox adding football due to the possibility of thinning out the D3 recruiting pool in the area however my mind is changing.  Linfield is going to have to continue to play these non-D3 schools for our out of conference games and it's not a great deal at all.

It would be great to have a 9 team NWC football conference and the proximity of these other schools would just give Linfield fans more chances to attend games and root on our 'Cats.

Frankly, I feel that the 'cats switch to the wishbone should have happened years ago. I think it will be quite exciting to see the team run the ball 65+ times in a game. Other teams may not realize about the switch, and they will be caught naked.

Hot and humid here in Carbondale, Ill- footballl weather. The saluki's have a big game thursday....

Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Good news about the possibility of George Fox adding football.  Anyone know of the current status of Phase 2 of the Catdome?  If Fox and Pacific are going to have new stadiums we had better get moving so that the Catdome is 'state of the art' to help us recruit the top players in the Northwest.  The other Cat venues are really top drawer now so the last major piece in the puzzle seems to be the Catdome Phase 2 project.

spiritof86,

With the new wishbone Offense the games will go by so fast
we will have more time to tailgate.

GO WILDCATS

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I'm sure that's on the list but I'm pretty sure it will be a major undertaking in terms of raising the cash first before any brick is laid down.  There are a few informational crumbs floating around but nothing confirmed in terms of any additional Catdome adjustments.

Tux,

I guess we moved a few DT's over to the fullback position to give the 'bone some more meat!  In fact the 'Cats 2007 motto is "Making wishes come true!"

Agreed. Matthews and Elliott would have been excellent at reading the DE and hitting their pitch man.

On a serious note, I recall a full-house Linfield backfield not that long ago. T.Paine, B.Flood and some other back(s) stood three across 4 yards deep and ran a bunch of dives and counter-traps until the Lutes fell asleep. Then they broke a couple long pass plays, and PLU went down in an upset in McMinnville. Given the expectations for that year, it wasn't one of our better showings down there.

pineconefan,
I know better than to think you are actually coach Tully, but with the use of the word "situation" in your last post I can't help but wonder  ;D  The QB situation is still very open from what I've heard.  I'm sure the coaches are starting to narrow doen their choice but there are 4 guys still working with the number 1's in practice.  Luke will most likely start.  Peck (the transfer) throws a nice ball but is just a second too slow on many of his reads.  Valle is making the best decisions with the ball but is the shortest and that causes troubles when you put a line in front of him.  Kemp has the strongest arm and runs well but has had some accuracy problems.  All in all the offense is going to need every practice they can get the next two weeks.  The defense, on the other hand, has been ready to play since day 1 of camp.
