... do you guys think anyone is buying this?

No, but how cool would it be if the Cats game out against Hardin Simmons and ran the bone---what a suprise that would be...except of course for us here :)
Go Cats!

D O.C.

QuoteLuke will most likely start.  Peck (the transfer) throws a nice ball but is just a second too slow on many of his reads.  Valle is making the best decisions with the ball but is the shortest and that causes troubles when you put a line in front of him.  Kemp has the strongest arm and runs well but has had some accuracy problems.

Thanks for the info tho'.

OK...we really need to be more serious.... so I need to announce that our friend TUXGUY is turning 50....yes, you read that right....50. That's half a century for those of you who can't count past 10. Anyway what we'd like to do is to shower him with gifts and accolades.  (cash is best) Please feel free to send all gifts to me and I will make sure TuxGuy receives the goods.

509,

I'm curious as to your closeness and specialness with the Whit camp?  Are you a recent alum or are you oldschool?
No way pinecone is Coach Tully....why would he waste his time reading posts when he should be scouting and prepping.  Leave it to oldtimers like us!

Toivo70....I think RatBoy(509) has a secret affiliation with Whitworth. And he spreads false info to throw other teams off.

Toivo70

Blue,

I think his info is pretty accurate actually...those are the names that have been thrown around in the paper.

sidenote:  George Fox is going to be pushing forward with a huge renovation of their outdoor facility (they're terrible) but the line that caught my eye was this:

Although no plans are imminent, the complex is being designed to allow for the possible addition of other sports, including intercollegiate football and lacrosse.

My thought: At first I was down on Pacific and maybe Fox adding football due to the possibility of thinning out the D3 recruiting pool in the area however my mind is changing.  Linfield is going to have to continue to play these non-D3 schools for our out of conference games and it's not a great deal at all.

It would be great to have a 9 team NWC football conference and the proximity of these other schools would just give Linfield fans more chances to attend games and root on our 'Cats.

That same sentence jumped out at me when I read that article. If the Austins are football fans, it could happen.

I would love it if Pacific and George Fox added football. When Pacific had football back in the day, it didn't seem to diminish the talent pool. With the eventual addition of a third school, I still think it would be okay, as long as they didn't both add football around the same time.

As you said, Wildcat11, having 2 more conference teams this close would be great. Maybe we could even get 10 games eventually.

OK, no more joking about the 'bone, although it does make me laugh. D- you were talking about the '97 game, I think?

I have been so out of it with school, work etc.. that I have not begun to think about the games, although it is now hitting me full on. Realistically, what are the chances versus wou? I know they will be strong, so a good performance (like maybe a close loss) might be OK for the 'cats. Needless to say, the hsu game is huge. I wish I could be there, but I will be watching Gateway Conf. football that weekend...
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

bluenote

Toivo70.....I know,  I was just kidding.... ;D

Anybody going to the Western Oregon/Willamette game this weekend? I can't make it as I'll be at the beach but I'll be checking out the Linfield scrimmage this Saturday am for sure.

fbgcat

Pacific was a good rival and it would be good to get them back.  They always seemed to bring their A-game when they played Linfield.  In '84, a National Championship season, we managed to beat them 2-0.  It was ugly.  Having more close games and a full schedule would be great for the Wildcats.

Bluenote is right...I figure so many of the NWC coaching staffs troll around this board, taking every rumor to heart, so that they can get some type of leg up on the competition  ;D  That is why the posts seem imformative...I can't wait to see the look on the Redlands' coaching staff's faces when they see Joel Clark suited up because of a loophole in NCAA policy that granted him another year of eligibility ;)

Like SJU's string of sixth-year QB's?  (Oops, there goes my karma.)

wildcat11

D-Train,

I guess those Monks have a number of favors built up with the NCAA over the years.

Just posted up a new blog rant I penned last night:  Rating the NWC Websites

Guess who I ranked as number 1?  :D
