What former Linfield President is buried outside his office window and what building is it?

MonroviaCat

Everybody knows that president Riley is buried outside Melrose hall....I mean anybody with enough time on their hands to search the web for this important piece of football information :)

Got it, now what was the reason for burying him there?

I am really sorry that I had to miss last week.  It killed me to just listen in now and then.  I'm sure 11 filled you guys in.  We just closed on a new home and have got to get the move done on time.  I will be at the WU game with ole blue and Mojo, ready to rock !!

GHC,

You still didn't tell us if you are downsizing to a singlewide, since you have an empty nest, or upgrading to something with a tipout, or pullout.
Are you still in Gig Harbor?

Wasn't it so he could keep an eye on the college or it's employees or something?

No, it was cause he was dead. I have no idea, although coco came up with a good one.

Swede,

You need to take your show on the road.

Oh, that makes sense.....though I suppose we'd all have remembered the story if he had been buried alive....maybe after rooting for a rival school (were we playing Willamette back then) in a football game.....now that would be great lore....I think I'll put that into Wikipedia and make it a fact ;)

No one would be dumb enough, or crazy enough to believe that anyone connected with Linfield could EVER root for Willamette under ANY circumstances.

Especially in football!

I beg to differ....let's say...hypothetically, we needed Willamette to win a game to ensure our entrance into the playoffs (e.g. if they had been the last team to play PLU in 2001)....then, maybe, just maybe some of the Linfield faithful may have, in secret mind you, been rooting for Willamette.  And of course, if anybody found out about this the person(people) would be buried alive outside of Melrose Hall just like President Riley (I read it on Wikipedia so it IS true). :)

Is bye week over yet?

Swede,

Perhaps Riley was proud of his football team and they wouldn't allow him to be buried under Maxwell Field because they would have to tear it up someday to put in field turf....so the next best alternative was to be placed in the garden outside his office window. :'(
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Well, okay, I guess I can maybe see it under those circumstances, a little.

And if you read in Wikipedia that President Riley was buried alive, then it really is true. We all know that anything we read on the Internet is a well-documented fact.
