... and all they read is about mustaches and buried faculty outside campus buildings...PUKE.  Thank goodness for your boys being named to the TOW, otherwise I wouldn't have even known this was supposed to be a football message board at all.
...

PP,
Perhaps you didn't notice but the mustache talk was in direct response to the Around the West commentary on the front page of d3football.com!  The d3 crew saw fit to submit it as amusing commentary so I'd say it's fair game for the Cat fans to pick up and run with.  I'm just happy my Lutes got some press.

As to the dead people buried on Linfield's campus, sure, it was boring to read (mostly cause the attempted jokes weren't funny  :) ) but those same Cat posters bring most of the actual football data to this board so cut them some slack.

Let's see, what was your contribution in football terms,

...Long road trip for the Blue Devils from Wisconsin, hopefully they get to enjoy some of the "finest" steaks in all the land from the Golden Corral and get a little Spokane culture while checking out NorthTown Mall.  Mall of America has nothing on the Spokane Malls. ...

Pirate Pride,

You're a bit testy today. So what if we were joking around yesterday. You're on here talking about shopping, for crying out loud.

I disagree with your assessment of PLU, too. I go back a long ways, and they have always been a fine program.  As WC11 said, some of their ideas are different from ours, but that doesn't mean they're wrong. A win against PLU means something. They've always been the team the most fun to beat, because you earned that win, and it's a pleasure to watch two classy, well-coached teams play a hard-fought, clean game. The years of Ad v. Frosty were great. I loved seeing those two hug after every game.

There are teams I don't respect, and there have been coaches and ADs I haven't respected over the years in the NWC, but none connected with PLU.
Two words:  THE STREAK

Oh yeah, I forgot, good luck to the Pirates this week, and the rest of the NWC teams!

While I may not have any affinity for Whitworth I root for other NWC teams when they are not playing PLU.

I even root for UPS, against whom my ACL was blown out early in my senior year.  And yeah it was an illegal chop block.  Nearly every day for the past 23 years I've put up with a knee that aches, So I cringe whenever the Logger posters bring out their "chop 'em down" line but I don't hate the school.

That is a good note on what the Lutes did last year for the the women's basketball team.  I don't know if it is a generational difference/philosophical difference between frosty/scotty or what.  Having played against the lutes from 2001-2005, I know what I saw on the field and the complete sarcasm of the whole "nice play, good job" stuff.  I just think what they do on the field is bush league, my opinion only.  The success of their program and what Frosty accomplished helped out this league more than I probably even know.  I also feel that when we beat them in 2001 for the first time in some umpteen years, we began to turn a page from being a doormat of the league.  So I do owe them that, but as I just said, from what I witnessed on the field, I don't respect the way they play.  I found the article to be more about the return of PLU and less about mustaches, and enjoyed reading it.  The posts...not so much.

Just because you took it as sarcastic doesn't mean it was said that way.

Okay, anyways it's good to have another non Linfield poster around so I hope you stick with it., those Cats tend to gang up on the rest of us  ;D.  I'd be curious to know if by "on the field" you are referring to the "nice play, good job" stuff or actual illegal cheap shot blocks, etc.  And as you said it might be a new generation but when I played, we meant it, as I'm sure your assistant coach who was a teammate of mine at PLU would attest to.

Speaking of other posters, where are those Logger guys

While not the perrenial favorite, Whitworth is rarely the doormat.  See here for standings each year since they entered in 1971:  http://www.nwcsports.com/sports/football/NWCFootballHistory.pdf

hope this is more interesting than our boring posts.... ::)

Uh, I vaguely recall visiting a place called Jiggles once, but I thought I was near Eugene at the time???

MonroviaCat

I think Jiggles is right off the 5 in Portland (or whatever suburb you are in at that point)....but this not football talk now...unless somebody can tell us that they have T.Vs at Jiggles that show football games.....

Anybody remember the Q.T.?  What did that stand for anyway?

Anyone else at the HSU game wonder why Trevor is on the kicking teams too?
(reminds me of the D3football.com poll)

Of course he isn't. So why are there two #15 that lead to confusion?
