Great win by the Pirates.  We still need to play for 4 full quarters (not one or two, like the last three weeks) if we want to beat the Cats again this year.  The defense stepped up in the second half, as did the offense.  Once again, going to the air, mixing it up a little, put points on the board for the Pirates...the offense then immediately back into its predictable run, run, pass pattern of plays and had to rely on a very gutsy drive by Kemp to win that game.  Both offense and defense did their part in securing the win.  Had Stout not completely abandoned that power running game they had going in the first half I might not be as excited as I am right now to be posting about this game.  Their O-line was BIG...the Spokesman article said that on average they outweighed WSU's o-line.  However, Stout's linebackers, runningbacks, and recievers aren't quite as big as they were last year...must not have been taking their vitamins.

509,

I think Tully will open it up more as Kemp gains confidence.  O line sure looked much better than week one in terms of pass pro..

I just figured they'd put Luke in to throw, but Kemp played a great game and hopefully gained some confidence in himself and instilled some confidence in his ability in Tully.  Tovio, you are right about the O-line...what a difference a few weeks make.  (and that transfer that put a few Stout guys on their backs)   ;)

(509)Rat, that was probably a wise edit. I've seen people get into trouble in the past when making those assumptions, even when they were joking about it.

You weren't kidding about the size advantage. The Spokesman: "Wisconsin-Stout's offensive linemen average 302 pounds. For comparison purposes, Washington State's front averages 299.8 pounds; Whitworth's 260.4."

Nice win for the Pirates. I don't know what changed in the 2nd half (wasn't able to watch it), but I caught most of the 1st half on the video stream and it looked like UW-Stout was pushing Whitworth wherever they wanted to. The 2nd half must have been a different story.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Foss,
I was only kind of joking...but I made the edit none the less.  When several of your starting players have their apartment raided by the police and the findings are published for the rest of the country to see, there really isn't any "assuming" involved.

Nice return by BearCats for a TD right before the half.

(509)Rat, If you make mention of the specific players who were caught by law enforcement, that's one thing. But when you say it is the entire team, or even the "defense", the "linemen", etc. that's something else entirely.
