It was even.  The most telling stat was 4th down conversions:  Linfield 0-3 Willamette 3-3.  Cats couldn't stop Willamette when the needed to and the Offense couldn't sustain a drive when they needed to.  Some questionable decisions were made by both teams but they came back to bite the Cats.  Turnovers killed us again as they always do.  Cats have some serious work to do.  A game like todays will not even keep us close against the Rats and Lutes if their performances today are indicative of anything.

Did the NWC get an AQ this year?

No offense to any posters, but Joe Smith is messing up the legacy. Linfield losing in that manner?  After dominating them? Sick. Terrible. Awful "the savior" jay locey is the one who left Linfield the most high and dry. Screw him. Nice job as "god" coach at crappy osu.
The "Legacy" is more than one man.  I think we're all upset by the loss today and would like to blame someone (or two), but the Linfield TEAM lost today and the TEAM needs to suck it up and figure it out.  Joe Smith and Jay Locey didn't fumble the ball tonight and they didn't miss the tacles that allowed Willamette to break free on some key 3rd and 4th downs.  Likewise, the players didn't choose to go for 2 early in the game nor did they choose to kick the field goal with 4th and inches at the end of the game.  Some may wish we could blame it all on one guy (The Beavers might be able to do that tonight) but we can't and shouldn't.

Just made it back from the game.  Don't really know what to say but Willamette just wanted it more than us and that is a bad sign.

I'm a Wildcat backer 100% but our kids need a gut check and get back to playing smart Linfield football instead of thinking other teams will just fall over at our feet...that's just not going to happen.  As a collective whole today the play was poor after we went up 19-0.

There are no gimmies on the remainder of our schedule (sans L&C) for this group so we better punch in on Monday wearing a blue collar and get back to Linfield style roots.  I would type more but I'm just too pissed but I hope the players are even more pissed.

Just got back from the game and I'm sick! After going ahead 19-0 I felt the players may have gotton the....here we go again feeling, I think most of the linfield fans felt that way.

The badcats changed up a few things on offense and their D is better than I've seen it in years. No excuses, nobody to blame, the badcats just played a great game.

Bet the Loggers sure wish we'd have won.

Absolutely aweful today from the Cats.  I think the most disappointing thing is to see the lapses and letdowns for 7-10 minutes stretches.  Up 19-0, the Cats just sat back and let the game come back to them rather than bury Willamette when we had the chance.........that's on the coached to keep the players motivated and in a good frame of mind.

How the heck can we give up so many big plays on defense??  Man, I'm really, really disgusted with the attitude and sense of urgency that I saw tonight.  Where's the leadership??

Looking at the schedule.......streak is in jeopardy!

I'll leave my comments off the board for now. I think anybody that saw that game knows we got schooled.

This is one of those games that Willamette will look back on in years to come for inspiration, that's for sure.

Where does Linfield fall in the standings now?  1-2.... ???

For the sake of one of the 3 NCAA Pool B bids, the Cats' West Region record is 1-1.

Ralph Turner

Pac Lutheran has three tough games on the road...

at Whitworth on Oct 6th
at Linfield on Oct 20th
at Willamette on Nov 10th.

Winning those 3 games gets them a Pool B bid.

IMHO, anything else is chancy for any NWC team.

This will be fun!  :)

(Aren't you Cats glad to have an in-region win over the Cowboys!   :))

Ralph....Since Linfield is a West Region team I assume a South Region (Hardin-Simmons) opponent is considered "in region" now as far as playoff criteria is concerned?

D O.C.

I don't expect an answer but when did LINFIELD last go up 19-0 and lose?

I missed listening to the whole debacle. Emphasis on a new dawn in the NWC.

Where's the leadership??

At the HSU game my friend remarked to me that the LINFIELD defense had no sparkplug or life to it. I was too preoccupied with the running game.

Same as last year.
