True, but head to head in a three-way tie where all split against the other two never results in an easy solution.

...you' think so but that didn't happen a couple years ago. So it may not be as cut and dry as one might expect? And if PLU wins all except the Linfield match-up they would have beat Willamette.

That was a 3 way tie (see Pat's comment above).  On the otherhand, if Willamette some how manages to win all but one (a loss to PLU) then things get sticky---You'd have 3 teams that are 5-1 in conference but PLU would only have the one loss overall and could probably get the bid.  I don't see more than one team from the NWC getting a bid this year.  I think the WIAC may have the right to claim 2 spots though if UWLC and UWWW win the rst of their games.  Of course, it's so eary still that anything could happen.  Heck, Lewis and Clark is undefeated in Conference Play.... ;)

Go Cats!

Playoffs are "light years away" for the Cats at this point.  100% of our focus needs to be on winning one game at a time.

Agreed, at least I agree that the teams focus needs to be 100% on winning their game this week.  I don't think my focus will affect the team much;  otherwise they would have stopped winning a long time ago...afterall, here I am at work not focussing on my job.....  But, point taken.  It does nobody any good to look ahead to the future until they can master the present..... or something.... ::)
Go Cats!

I gotta say you Cat fans are resilient, 4 days ago THE STREAK was in jeapordy, now you're in the playoffs.  :)

Hopefully your team bounces back as quick as your fans.

Linfield stunned by Willamette

SALEM — The Linfield Wildcats did plenty of things right on Saturday, but they also did just enough things wrong to allow the Willamette Bearcats to kick a last-second field goal and walk away with a 33-32 Northwest Conference victory at McCulloch Stadium in Salem. Linfield alumni impressive one more time
By ALLEN MOODY
Of the News-Register

Minutes after the Linfield alumni schooled the Wildcats junior varsity team, 54-16, they tried to teach the young Wildcats a thing or two about dealing with adversity — the kind that occurs when a Linfield team finds itself sitting at 1-2 three games into the season.

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

I am suprised to see playoff talk already.  I can't imagine we are ready to crown a NWC champion this early in the season.

The ranking thing doesn't bother me.  Linfield is still a GREAT team regardless of any second half let downs against a cross town rival.  PLU is getting tested this weekend by a tough Whitworth team.  Win or lose, I am pumped about the early progress of the PLU team.

Here's a question that popped into my mind with the, albeit premature, talk of playoffs.  Does D3 (as a whole) or the NWC (as a conference) have a procedure for  overtime situations during the regular season?  I know I've seen OT scores in other conferences but couldn't remember one for the NWC.  Is it the same as D1....?

kansas plan...start from the 25, each team gets a possesion, same as D1...(sorry, The Bowl Subdivion) What a JOKE.  Does the NCAA seriously pay people to sit around and think up that crap?

Lever Street

This talk of playoffs is crazy.  Let's see if we can accomplish the following:

a) Win 5 games
b) Hold an opponent to less than 32 points
c) Get head coach to keep mouth shut after games

Go Linfield!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

Let's get one game at a time.

If it mattered about points for or against then please conject.

At this point perhaps play fantasy football somewhere else. But then...why wouldn't you do what you want?

Except!
I thought you folks were pretty cool when the coaching change happened so fast. Some offered opinions on Best Choice. When the choice was made public some proffered reservations. That whole process was pretty smooth.

I, for one, am not for a Zweifelesque (see WIAC) laundromat in this public forum. But then...why wouldn't you do what you want?    8)

;D what do you guys mean by calling me obtuse?!

Do not air dirty laundry.
Whitewater had a new coach to pick and there was much personal controversy on d3football.com for us to view.
Trying to figure out NCAA Division III playoffs is nothing but Fantasy Football.

OH! you talk about dirty laundry!
