WC11-

Nice face time on Channel 8 tonight!! I thought the story was very good on the streak.

UPS won't be able to keep up with us like they did last year.  The track is faster and the D is better.

Thanks, DutchFan. You've got class. I'd like to see Central come back to the CatDome this season myself. Or any IIAC team.

I agree on the lack of intensity this year, at least on the part of the fans, not the players. For us it's our short season, where we get only 4 home games, then L&C bows out, and we get only 3, until the alumni stepped up. Hope we get programs this time. Plus it seems like so long between games. I'm really looking forward to Saturday. I think we'll hang more than 40 on the loggers.

pennstlbu - True enough.  The D still has to make stops.  They did a good job last year against Eliot and co. and it will be interesting to see what happens on Saturday.  In any case, it's nice to see UPS keep improving their program.

Coco, don't forgot the home game on Nov. 12 at Catdome South...er, I mean at Willamette!  ;D
I've seen one Linfield game in each of the past 2 seasons (2003 @ St. John's and 2004 @ UW-Stevens Point).  Somehow, I don't think I'll get a chance this year.  The Road to the Stagg Bowl goes through McMinnville.

Whitworth put up 47 on UPS this weekend, so that can tell you that Linfield might be able to put up quite a few points this weekend, as they do to any defense. But then again last year UPS allowed 38 points to Whitworth, then 35 to Linfield.

Congrats Cats on a 50th consecutive winning season, and especially to all the former Cat players on this board.  It's gotta' feel good to be part of history like that.

Way to go Lutes.  Finally a breakthrough!  Keep that momentum rolling now.

Wildcat11 and other Wildcat alumni.....I was wondering why they don't have a regularly scheduled alumni game every year against the JV Team? They could have it every year on the bye week. Just like a regular game. Maybe it could turn into a good fundraiser for the athletic dept. Maybe I'm missing something but it does seem to make sense for a fundraiser. Plus I hate bye weeks.

Linfield has released their UPS @ Linfield game preview

OC cat....I'm bummed that I missed the news last night.

Just my 2 cents on the early playoff talk........The only people that think SJU, or any one else, should be seeded #1 out West is SJU fans.  It sounds like they needed a miraclous finish just to stay undefeated.  I'm sure Pat can clarify, but has there ever been a case where a defending National Champ goes undefeated and doesn't get homefield??  It just goes without reason........

We have to think that Whitworth would be in the top 15 if not for laying an egg at Eastern Oregon.  Then the whole thought of the NWC having a "down" year would be different.  I think the only reason people think the NWC is down this year is because one of it's usual solid teams is down (PLU).  If they win out and don't play us, Whitworth will represent the conference just fine.

I'm not a SJU fan but my point is if you look at THIS season alone and the teams they have played SJU has played tougher teams and came out on top.  Who knows what the rest of the season holds.  That being said I think Linfield is the #1 team in the west.

Great photo of Elliot & Company hoisting the "50" signs in the pre game writeup on the upcoming UPS game on the Linfield website!

Way to go Cats!!!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

wildcatinwi,

Yes, we do have the Catdome South game to look forward to, and it's always fun to win that one.
I'm looking forward to Saturday, too, as I think the intensity is really going to start building now.
That's good that you are getting to see some games back there.

Thanks, eclute.

I'm a SJU fan and in no way, shape, or form believe that SJU should be the #1 seed in the West.  The Johnnies have to earn our way through McMinnville this year first.

It'll be interesting for travel purposes, though, if the committee considers taking 2 NWC teams.  That could lead to a guarantee of 3 flights unless Oxy will be at home against Whitworth.

OCC:  Refer to my earlier statement.  I don't think there is a single Johnnie fan that would take the position we deserve to be seeded ahead of Linfield.  If a Johnnie fan made that statement the rest of us would be all over him/her.

p.s.  I NEVER disagree with The Nature Boy.
