My apologies for generalizing........Either way, if current form holds to be true the West bracket will definitely be a battle.  It would be nice to see the Johnnie fans back out to Mcminnville in December.

I'm a SJU fan and in no way, shape, or form believe that SJU should be the #1 seed in the West.  The Johnnies have to earn our way through McMinnville this year first.

It'll be interesting for travel purposes, though, if the committee considers taking 2 NWC teams.  That could lead to a guarantee of 3 flights unless Oxy will be at home against Whitworth.

If that's the case The Rats will play at Linfield   (388.miles) and "they" will  fly someone in to play OXy or fly  oxy  out.  it  saves some  air $$...   The J's will be home at least one game for sure.. JR will be cooking up the meat... good stuff...

The Cats scoreing "D" has been awesome and so has their rush defense. Here are some stats to chew on:

Against WOU: gave up 1 TD; 24 yds rushing & 37 pass on that drive.

Against UWSP: gave up 1 TD on a 5 yd rush after a blocked punt

Against PLU: gave up 2 TDs; 31 yds to the rush and 40 pass on the first drive and 0 rush and 65 pass on the second.

Against Whitworth: gave up 5 TDs; 12 yds rush and 61 pass on first drive, 14 rush and 81 pass (had 11 yd sack) on second drive, 27 rush and 35 pass (20 yds in penalties) on third drive, 11 rush and 35 pass (30 yds in penalties) on fourth drive, and 0 Rush and 89 pass on final drive.

Against SOU: gave up 1 TD (one scored on blocked punt returned) 0 yards given to the rush and 75 yards pass.

Oh yeah, on all those opponent scoring drives, the ball was run 31 times and only 3 times did the opponent gain more than 5 yards.

Unless the Loggers can play some pitch and catch, Linfield gets their first shutout of the season on Saturday.

Touchdown Tommy

Holy cow did you crazy rabid Linfield fans just see the extended blurb on ESPN's SportsCenter about your Cats 50 straight winning seasons?  Neil Everett gave them much love.  Talking fantasy football and selecting Brett Elliott.  Didn't the West Region's own reporter (THE OneArmedScot) do just that this season?  Craziness, great publicity for McMinnville.

Hope the Johnnies are good enough to meet the Cats on the 3rd of December.  I know the Cats want a little revenge...

Everyone one knew it was Linfield...hell they have 5 or 6 players who are the best "ever" in the conference at their respective positions (Elliot, Allen, Hazenberg, Olson, Mckecnie, Boock, Donaldson, Brandon, Ort, etc.).......but  the cupboard could look a little thinner after graduation.  Elliott is one of the best D1 QB's in the nation let alone playing at D3. The Wilcats will find an able replacement for Elliott, but not 100 TD passes in two years type guy!  And the best group of recievers the NWC has ever seen will be all but depleted also (less the transfer, Thomas).  One of the reasons the Wildcats are throwing for a few less yards this year is the loss of George Carter who was a phenominal D3 talent who was practically irreplacable.  This all speaks well for the other four contenders.... PLU, Willamette, Whitworth and UPS.  Both Willamette and PLU are very young teams and UPS is starting to compete, while the Rats have put up the most resistance to Linfield as of late.  But it's still this season....and the spoiler is located in Salem.  The Bearcats..will play the Wildcats for the title for the fourth straight time if they can win one of their two games vs. the Lutes or Rats.  The bad news for the  NWC is...if the Bearcats take out Whitworth...only the Wildcats are headed for post season,  barring a Bearcat miricle against Linfield in the season finale. The B-Cats are at home vs. a suspect PLU defense in two weeks and the Rats gave up a alot on the ground vs. WU last year in Salem.  So both games could be very close.  The Rats and the Lutes will rule the air....while the Bearcats will hit the ground running....so whats new in the NWC....not a lot!!!!  An interesting stat...in the last three years Willamette is 5-1 vs. PLU and WC....with the lone loss coming vs. the Rats in over-time two years ago in Spokan.  All the pressure is on Whitworth....if they win out...they go to the dance...same scenario as last year when Willamette stole their thunder in week nine.  The last three weeks should be very interesting in the Pacific Northwest D3 circles!

Gig Harbor Cat

Congrats on the Cats SC piece last night.  Does it get any better than this.  This IS a great time to be a Wildcat.

50 in 50  (I think I need a new shirt, my 41 and Counting has about had it, on second thought I'll just keep it and change the 4 to a 5 for 51 and counting, yea thats what I will do, besides it has way to many tailgate stains on it to get rid of)

Look at you CatBacks coming out of your slumber with a twitch of nervousness.
Hey! George! What of one of our 'keys' gets hurt in the alumni game?

You CatBacks just know that coach in the lake country wants you too with your 34 "SOS" and your broken up, no momentum season. He'll have a whole new offense and he already knows what to defend with a D almost as good as LINFIELD'S.

Have a profitable homecoming without me. I'm stuck in New Jersey. Got threatened in a Monday Night Football bar my first 10 minutes here. Left... to post again!

UPS has released their Linfield vs. UPS game preview

BRING ON THE WILDCATS

excerpts:

Last year, Linfield won the game 35-16 but the Loggers kept the Wildcats to a season-low 344 total yards on 51 plays.

.......Does anyone want to take any bets that Linfield will clip that total yards mark this year?

Kelly Boggs

Wildcat 11,

It is entirely possible that the Cats could have 344 yards by half time!

GHC,
I was thinking the same thing about my 43 Consecutive Winning Seasons T-shirt. It's looking pretty worn, but I'm not about to part with it. The bookstore should be coming out with new gear now.

DenS,
That sucks that  you won't be here.

WC11, maybe with your Hi tech toys you can send pat the photo of the boys with the 50 winning season on it to put on the front page. That is if he would like. I think this is something that might never be beat!!! In any sport. GO CATS  51 in 06 ;D
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

DES MOINES, Iowa — All eyes were on Oregon, where someone bought the winning Powerball ticket worth $340 million.

It was the largest jackpot in the game's history and the second-biggest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.

The winning numbers drawn Wednesday evening were 7, 21, 43, 44, 49 and 29.

Powerball officials said the winning ticket was sold somewhere in Oregon. They had no other information.

Step forward WC11 to receive your prize!!
