For what its worth

1. Redlands beats Cal. Lu
2. Oxy beats Whittier
3. Redlands and OXY will play each other in the first round.
4. The NWC is left out

Congrats again to the Pirates and I hope I'm wrong (I usually am) Whitwoth is the king of the NWC.

If 1 and 2, then Cal Lu get the AQ for the SCIAC.  WHat happens to them?
and you prove his point about being wrong!
Won't CLU only get the AQ if they beat Redlands?

So with Cal Lu winning do they become the SC champ no matter what they do next week?

From last weeks conversation sounds like they do.

No--if Oxy loses and Redlands win---Then--Redlands is the champ (because it would then be a two way tie with Redlands and CalLu and Redlands would have the head to head tie breaker).
Go Cats!

Monrovia, +k for your "friend of Jane"  comment :)  Not because I agree or anything but because you had me stumped there for awhile.   ;D
O.K.  I've been thinking of more:  How about "don't be a VanDyke"....or "Dude--you're such a Cheney"  "or your acting like the vice president" (political disclaimer--not meant in a pro/anti republican way--just using the name)....such a fun game---who else has some?

OXY beat Redlands, CLU beat OXY and if Redlands beats CLU then its a three way tie for 1st. Now how does the tie breaker work?

Congrats, you have a couple of NAIA DII championships (what were there, about 40-50 teams you had to beat out for that honor back in the day?).  D III football is much more competitive with over 250 teams.

I can't count too high but last time I checked Linfield still had a recent d3 championship and I can't recall Whitworth's.

And they've given SJU much better games than that 18-point pee-down-the-leg at the Pine Bowl.

You must be in journalism...I mean, only taking the part of my quote that made your response oh so witty, nice.  I admitted that the Lifnield BE's were one of the better teams that D III has seen for awhile, but that was a once in a century team.  Congrats, you Lost better than Whitworth...you should be the spokesman for Wildcat football.  They must have some sort of excuse making class over there at Linfield.  How can Mcat and the others give me crap when one of there own posts this?  "We lost in a much closer fashion than you did...so there!"  Thats classic.

How often are there 3 reps from the west coast in the playoff?

SCIAC does the old rose bowl tie-breaker for three way ties...whoever hasn't been there in the longest period of time gets to go

PPJ,
The only time that has happened recently has been when the NWC gets two bids (1 pool B, 1 pool C) and the SCIAC champ gets a pool A.  May happen this year if Redlands or Oxy can get a pool C, w/ Cal Lu getting the A, and Whitworth a pool B.  I don't know if the NWC getting a pool A next year will make it harder or easier for our conference to get two bids...or if it will even have an effect at all?

Good try but Repete is not a Linfield guy (I think he may be a Johnnies fan)--Actually he picked the Rats to win this game in the MIAC pickem (west game of the week or something)....

Well---with the AQ for the NWC next year there will be less pool B (or is it C) spots so i think statistically it will be harder...

RAT:

Any way it works out good luck to the Pirates. They have a good group of DB's. Kids can cover the pass. The QB put the ball in some tight places today. He had a good game.

Mcat,
sorry about repete...why a Johnnies fan would root for Linfield I don't know...I mean, I would rather play the Whitworth "we pee-down-our-legs" Pirates than the team that has given them close games.  On second thought, trolling on the NWC board, taking jabs at NWC teams sounds exactly like a Johnnie poster.

Remember that for this to happen, Oxy has to beat Whittier next week as well.  That's what'll create the 3 way . . . if Redlands falls to Cal Lu, the Kingsmen win outright . . . if oxy falls, that's the second conference loss and Redlands will prevail over Cal Lu if they win the H2H.

Interesting week coming up in the SCIAC . . . and the NCAA rankings as yet another variable.  I kind of liked it better when we knew Oxy was going to round 1.   ;)
