It would have been great if that one counted... :-[

Joe Smith had a few things to say about that call in he local paper. I didn't see the play or video so I don't know what happened. I've just heard that you can pretty much call holding on most any play if you choose to.  It's pretty subjective a lot of the time because of the angles. But I guess if we would have scored another 2 or 3 it wouldn't have mattered.

I believe it's the first time ever outside of the D3football.com top 25 (which started in '03) and that now only Mt. Union and UMHB have been ranked every week of every year.
Not complaining about the Cats falling from the top 25 (their record this year doesn't justify a ranking) but I am curious how often a team drops from the top half of the poll to completely out of the poll in one week.  Maybe somebody has other examples....just curious.
Surfing while watching the Cortaca Jug game...

Not quite the same thing, but HSU was #11 in the pre-season, loss to #7 LW-LC and fell to #22.  They gained to #19 on the open date.  They lose to Linfield and fell to #20.  They win but fall to #21 after Week #4.  They stay at #21 in week #5, but lose convincingly to UMHB in Week #6 and fall to RV #29.  They lose favor when winning anemically in Week #7, and fall to RV #34.  An OT loss to Howard Payne in Week #8 sees HSU's departure from the "RV".

The touchdown that Scharer threw that counted happened to be to a Whitworth DB, that was the problem...Anyways, off to the game, heard there should be a decent contingent of former players at the game, so heres to a few orange crush's afterwards.

Okay MC...I"m still listening. The video feed was cut so I can't watch the game. Stretchnet emailed me and said they were having problems with the Linfield video feed.

No...the bogus holding call was the problem. And the interception was defensive pass interference. ;D But like I said earlier, we needed to add a couple more scores anyway.

Interesting...4 top ten teams lose today in Pat's Triple Take Day, the others win way too big (ala LINFIELD) and a 72-70 OT in the Liberty (We're All Bozos On This Bus) League.

Salisbury, Wesley and Case Reserve all won to wrap up pool B bids I beleive. SJU drops to Pool C....how does that bode for Whitworth. I'm thinking they are going to get bumped out. :o  Also what kind of a mess worked out of the SCIAC >>>

Anyone who is going to the Hall of Fame ceremonies this evening, and is familiar with  the principals, please give my congrats to Jim Massey and Jay Buse. Legends in my mind and deserving of  the fete.

I almost didn't recognize Jay Buse with his gray ponytail.
