I know it is not up to linfield as far as the conf. schedule goes, and I like the idea of not always having the same conf. schedule in order. I do not like the idea of going back to abilene, either for the team or myself. I would not encourage anyone to go after my last trip there. I know that these things are hard to figure and not all up to linfield, but why can't we play a team in Iowa? Minnesota? Wisconsin?
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Because these teams either have prior commitments, the dates don’t line up,  or they would rather not play.  Remember that most of the other conferences only have 1-2 non-conference games to fill and are located closer to other D3 conferences so why would they want to put up a large sum of money on a flight when they can take a much shorter and cheaper trip via bus?

It was either HSU or Azusa…Linfield made a good decision in taking the DIII game and kudos to HSU for extending the deal.

Coming back from the PLU games we always stop at Falls Terrace near the old Olympia brewery for dinner, and we see see other 'Cat fans there, too. It's a great place to eat, for those of you who haven't tried it.

I give credit to HSU as well. It's an expensive trip for them. It would be fun to play a Midwest school, but they can play a D3 team from their area lots cheaper than they could play us.

I'm glad we're not playing another NAIA school!

One more time, it certainly would be nice to have a SCIAC non-conference game.

Coco,

My wife and I had dinner last year at Falls Terrace for the first time on a trip between Seattle and Portland.  The food was absolutely great and the service was even better.....our waiter was a student at PLU, so we did have a bit of fun with him during the course of the meal.

Good gathering place for Cat fans!

....any more news on Pacific possibly gearing up for football? I heard they may have even hired a coach to start recruiting and lining things up? Forest Grove is a nice little jaunt! I remember the old stadium they had there, it reminded me of something that was built in the 30's or there abouts, very old school on both sides of the field. I'd think they could start out by using the field by Liberty HS in Hillsboro, I think it's called Hillsboro Stadium? It's a fairly decent venue. Portland State played there for one year while Civic Stadium was being remodeled.

...a stop off at the Country Cousin for Breakfast...

Careful, that's a secret weapon for success in Tacoma...we don't want the Lutes hitting the Cousin on the way down to Mac.

That game up at the UPS Swamp should be a tough one, I'm sure Coach Willenbrock figures it will be for the NWC championship...

Hypothetical question but.....  If we could find another D3 opponent which non-D3 team would we dump, or would we actually play 10 games like most of the rest of the world (in D3 that is).

I think I'd play 10 games and then eventually try to dump Southern and replace them with , GASP, a 9th D3 team! I like the Western rivalry (you know, the cheap shots, ineligible players, etc...).  I think I'd dump them last.  It also looks pretty good when we can beat a D2 school (though that hasn't happened in a couple of years).

I'd just like to thank Wildcat 11 for that marvelous You tube video of the Stagg Bowl 2007.  Classy, wonderful video as always, which I immediately put on my facebook page and sent to Danny and Justin with a comment.  I had the pleasure to attend all the functions, from the Gagliardi presentation, the luncheon and the game and the victory party afterwards.  It was such a fantastic week.  My Christmas present to myself!  Thanks again for a succinct memory that I can push a button and watch anytime I want.  I am awaiting the Linfield-UWW video that you have talked about on the WIAC board.  Everybody who was there, on both sides of the field have said that that was the best game they have ever seen.  I saw that Linfield team come to Salem and win the title, so I want to see the highlights.  I have a still picture of the interception that AJ Raebel made which was a game-changing play, but that isn't enough.  Let me know when this is available (she says in her best southern drawl!!)
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Hey, 86, what didn't you like about Abilene?  ?While anywhere in Texas is a long way from anywhere, I rather enjoyed the trip. Interesting town and history, really nice campus.

I agree, that drum, actually an empty 50 gal. container, was terrible. The players could not hear in the huddle or on the line of scrimmage.
I believe there is a ncca rule about banning artificial noise makers during games. Seems like it was overlooked by the coaching staff/officials.
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Have I told all you good folks in Catdome Land how much I love ya? If not I LOVE YA MAN & WOMEN & Any body else that might be reading. Hollidays were great. Alot of quality family time. Hope everybody had  a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Can't wait for 08 Wildcat Football. Thinking of maybe taking a vacation in early Sept. and going to Texas. Watch a little Football. Wildcat Style. See what happens.

The 08 schedule looks good. Having WOU late looks good. The Cats will be ready. Also beating Whitworth early will be nice. The Cats will have to finish the year strong.

GO CATS.
