Coco,
I read the blog and then commented to 11 that it was an awesome piece.  What I told him was  that if he were interviewed during his playing days,  he would have said the same thing and if Coco was interviewed during his days he would have said the same.
simply stated--Cats for Life !!
I actually have printed a copy and am taking it to our HS hoops game tonight and will give copies to the two players that I have put in touch with coach Smith.

Thanks for confirming my comments to 11

That was an inspiring player profile Wildcat11. That gets me all pumped for next year! I'm very excited about Jaymin Jackson and several other linebackers that are coming back next season. I think that they will be the strong point of th defense when the season begins.

I was noticing as I looked at the schedule that I will be able to attend 8 of the 9 games next year....how sweet it is!!! Can't wait.

Exactly, GHC, we all have that pride, and we're all connected down the line, from way back when until now. It's a special feeling. Jaymin Jackson just expressed it really well.

You can see it in the fans, too. There are dedicated older people at our games who have been watching Linfield football for over fifty years, and they have the same look on their faces. I've heard that Mt. Union also has a large contingent of older fans, and other schools probably do as well.

My in-laws rarely missed a Linfield game from the time they were students there until they died.

Don't you think much of the credit has to go to the coaches who run the great programs -- where the head coach is an outstanding role model, a sharp football mind, runs a clean program, works the kids hard, expects good personal behavior, expects them to graduate, and genuinely cares about his players? Those are the coaches we've had at Linfield.

It makes it easy to love Linfield football. I'm looking forward to more of WC11's interviews with the players.

We can add another Championship to the list of Linfield alums.  The six-man football team I've been coaching this season won it's third State Championship in four years.  The Fredericksburg Heritage Eagles won OT 36-30 (OT) in a hard fought game for the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools DII Championship.  It was an incredible season and I have been blessed to be able to work with such fine young men and coaches.  I fully believe that some of the lessons I learned while being part of the Linfield team helped prepare me for coaching and teaching.  I do my best everyday to coach and teach up to the expectations I experienced at Linfield.  Kinda goes along with what Jaymin Jackson and y'all have been discussing lately.

Congratulations fbgcat.
As the father of a former Linfield Wildcat player, Sean Horning O-line right guard, Class of '06, I can tell you he feels the same way as Jaymin Jackson. Linfield is a special place.

fbgcat...
nicely done to your group of guys. Any pictures to post somewhere? How about your profile?

Coco,

Good post...you captured the "cat spirit" in a short few words.  The "streak" wouldn't be what it is today were it not for the coaches and the attitudes that they inspired year after year on student/athletes to believe in themselves and believe that they could win at the highest of levels.  Long  live the "cat  spirit".

What a Love Fest...
It all rings true but, since LINFIELD is almost a decade into NCAA Division III, let's not forget one can also take a health course with a teacher who has won both baseball and football national titles, a Christian Faith and Contemporary Culture Class while having  your Chemistry II professor be a student in the same class, spend the darkest days of winter in a foreign country and be bright and bushy-tailed for 'spring training'  (plus eat Haleiwa strained poi while listening to strained ukulele music at a luau when you're done with that!)

I'll have to figure out how to post the pic from the front page of our local newspaper.  We made an interception in overtime to end the game.  The photographer snapped a pic at the instant the celebration began, and the instant I ruptured my achilles tendon.  In the pandamonium of celebration, while jumping up and down, my achilles decided to part ways with itself.  Here is a link to the story in our newspaper.  Enjoy.

Way to go, fbgcat! That's quite an accomplishment  You'll need to let Kelly Bird know so he can add you to the list in the media guide.

Ah, haleiwa poi. That brings back memories. And how about watching big bruising D linemen do the hula, just as light on their feet as ballet dancers, while girls scream. They like those skimpy malos. The luaus have been a great addition to Linfield, IMO.

Before reading the interview on Jaymin Jackson I thought WC11 got enough kudos for the piece...So I thought I'd just check the Advantage site, read the article and get to work on time....But now I'm so inspired, I had to check in back here and give WC11 and Jaymin Jackson a big thumbs up...so know I'm late to work:)
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I can't wait till WC11's 3000th post....

Hello fellow Cat Fans and Football lovers. Just got back from Vegas. Very little sleep, alot of life and a great Super Bowl. Now back to day to day life.

Thought I would do a little reading and catch up on the Northwest. Great stuff as always.

Great interview 11. Wildcat tradition is very strong. Can't wait to read the next one.

Please do not push him. I'm sure he's breathing deep for the 3000 post, waiting for a tidbit like January 2004.  ;)

Catdomealumni.com special!

Catdomealumni.com's blog ( ADvantage Catdome) has just started up a new player blog segment that we'll try to run at least once a month.

Linfield Offensive Tackle, Jared Hinkle is our second blogger and shared his Linfield Experience with everyone.  Player Blog: Jared Hinkle "EXPECT TO WIN"

On a side note: 3000.  Not sure if that is cool or depressing.  But screw it...I love small college football and Linfield and it's important to me.  I've been posting on d3.com for about 9 years and if PC keeps this up I hope to be able to for as long as he keeps this community up and running.

Go 'Cats!
