So what is the report from the first two days of spring ball for the 'Cats?

I'm hoping for some analysis and maybe video highlights from Wildcat11~ !   :D

A late Happy birthday!!

#11- I've been meaning to ask you what the rule change is regarding the clock.

Casey Allen caught four passes ( a couple were for TD"s) as Boise burned Tri-Cities. Although Allen's  number of catches is down per game from last year his average per catch is up to 17.9 yds compared to around 10-11 last year.

Thanks Coco.

We're just two weeks away from the start of a month's worth of Linfield Legends and I put the wraps up on Big Hits III last week.

I'm currently working on the playoff highlights from 1984's playoff run (thanks to a local 'Cat for that VHS of the raw video), we'll have a spring ball video, our annual HS football camp videos, a rebuff of the UWW/Linfield game from 2005, along with a few other treats.

Keep spreading the word!

Looks like UMHB and Linfield have a common opponent this year. Linfield plays Southern Oregon one month before UMHB does.  Any Linfield faithful have any comments, early scouting reports, etc. on Southern Oregon?

roocu,

Raider Stadium in Ashland is a tough place to play.  Looks like the Cru will be there late in the year so the field might be toast by then (natural grass).

They had some great teams in the early 2000's but fell off for a few years.  They've been getting a little better over the past couple years since their new HC took over two years ago.

They tend to get a number of JC kids and a few DI, DI-AA academic drop outs that can play.  Their offense traditionally tries to be run/pass balanced out of the power I formation.  Lots of zone read looks and they try to be physical.

Defense wise they were pretty darn stout last season.  DB's have really improved and their LB's were solid.

The biggest key about SOU is they tend to be their own worst enemy with mistakes.  They talk a lot of junk, will try to imtimidate, and have a rep for being a renegade program.

I think the Cru should be able to handle them but it won't be easy.

From the "It's a Small World File"

My brother had a phone conversation with an old high school buddy of his last night.
They haven't talk since the late 60's.
He finds out his buddy lives in Eugene, OR and he tells him his nephew and his brother both played football for Linfield College in the '80's
and that they both were on the NAIA Championship team. My brother tells him his nephew, my son,  played for Linfield and was a member of the 2004 D3 Championship team.

What are the odds of two high school friends both having a nephew playing for two different Linfield Championship Football Teams?

R&P

I don't know what they odds are, but it shows they're all winners. They must have had a good conversation over that happy coincidence.

It snowed here this morning. Not much, and it didn't stick, but still. It's April! It's baseball and track season.

Snow? What's that? It's been in the high 80s to low 90s down here in the desert.

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Great video! Thanks for keeping us all entertained. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to edit the clips and publish them.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info Wildcat11.  Sounds to me like this game might be a throwback to the old days when two teams lined up and ran right at each other.  I will be keeping up with the NWC board as always, but with perhaps the most interest since my son played at UMHB and against you guys and Willammette.

Good luck to both of your teams this year and welcome to AQ status for your conference!!  ;D

11, looks like you missed the best part:

"One of the under-heralded members of the Lewis & Clark Expedition was a Newfoundland dog owned by Captain Meriwether Lewis. Seaman, the dog, is mentioned 28 times in the journals kept by Captain Lewis and Captain Clark and another six times in the journal kept by Corps of Discovery member John Ordway."

I guess I'm strange, but Seaman was the first thing I though of when I saw 11's post and the new logo. OK, I've read the journals, visited Forst Clatsop several times and have traveled most of the Corps of Discovery's route from the Rockies to the Pacific.
