DC1,

The Wittenberg S.I.D. just mailed me back too.  The S.I.D. before him did this research and he just updated it.  He said that he'll make the change but would appreciate if we would lay off him.  I find that a little funny because how many e-mails could he have received in a 10-hour span from Linfield fans?  Couldn't be that many....could it?   ;D

pat said the reason was no one from Linfield  was or has been nominated.. ???

No I didn't. Don't misquote me. I said it takes nominations, I never said no one from Linfield was nominated.

As for the "Team of the Wekk", no noms, no mention. There are so many d3 games each week that at leats 5 qb's put up crazy numbers, same with wr's, db's etc...

That is actually quite true. There is only one QB named per week and yet we always get a dozen nominations. On the other hand, we name four defensive linemen and we're lucky to get more than six nominations there. Everyone wants to nominate the glory positions but the others are forgotten, and I've seen it happen on conference player of the week selections as well.

OK, so, here's the dilemma you guys put me in. I am assembling the Statistical Spotlight and have a chance to spotlight a Linfield player (for those of you who think it's necessary to keep score, Linfield has been in the Statistical Spotlight once this season). But because you guys (and you know who you are) are such jerks about it, I have to think twice. Not that the player isn't worthy, but because I don't want you to think that because you bitch and moan about something I will put Linfield on the front page. That isn't the way it works.

Think about how your whining and griping affects people.

That is all. The Oregon-based Linfield posters can ignore my post. The ones breathing too much smog and getting too much sunlight -- you're the ones I'm talking to. I don't need this crap from you and neither do the rest of the Linfield fans want to see it.

Don Hansen's Weekly Football Poll is out:
Top 3 from the West Region (1. Linfield, 2. UW-Whitewater, 3. St. John's).  Ohio Northern at #7, Mount Union @ #8, Occidental @ #10.
Playoff Committe is going to have a real challenge if these schools continue to win with 4 out of the Top 10 in the West Region.  The Hansen poll is similiar to the D3 poll except some of the schools are shifted around a bit.

What about UW-Whitewater getting moved to the North now that MUC has lost?? That would balance things our a bit more.

Pat,

Nice photo on the front page!!!  However, why can't you change the back drop of d3football.com to purple and red?   :D

How about those new pants?  Hmmm....don't think I've seen those before.  If that type of victory is what we get when we wear the pants...i say we wear those every week.  Lookin' sharp boys.

Thanks, Pat, for putting Linfield on the front page!

We all know that some of us posters can get a little over-zealous at times, but it's good that you don't hold it against the players, who are a deserving bunch.

C'mon Pat.  If a player/team deserves recognition, you should give it to them.  If they don't, that's fine.  You shouldn't let a few fans take something away from the players.  Just MHO.

Edit:  Oops, just checked the front page!  Thanks, Pat!

Pat, you do a great job and I appreciate the entire site. Thanks.

Does anyone know why Linfield has only 8 games on their schedule this year? Maybe this has been discussed already, but I just noticed and was surprised that defending national champions can't get a 9 or 10 game schedule?

redman04,

We had a 9 game schedule until Lewis and Clark tired of being the NWC whipping boy cancelled their season after 4 games
and dropped football.  They had so few players try out for the team this year they decided to bail out just before the season started.  Linfield has replaced that game with a JV Alumni game
but no official replacement game was scheduled.

Ironically, it's been rumored that Linfield's tradition actually hurts them in filling their schedule as (again, rumors) some teams refuse to play them.  Also, since the NWC is isolated from the rest of D3, it takes a lot of money for travel compared to schools in the midwest and east.
