I think we did pretty well with recruiting this year. ;)

BTW, if our 'Cats take care of business there is no reason why they shouldn't be playing 12 games or more this season.

Wildcat11....wasn't last year a good recruiting class also? So...that's 2 or 3 in a row now!  ;)

Isn't every year a good year for recruiting?  Now we just need to get back to having a good (or better than the last two years) year on the field!
Go Cats!

Like how easy it was for Puget Sound to schedule Whitewater....at HOME!, yet we're playing the same non-DIII teams as usual.  It almost comes across as laziness for whoever makes the schedule by making the same phone calls every year.  The teams up in Washington have been able to fill out DIII schedules by NOT including SCIAC schools so it's hard to take the excuse that no one will schedule us except for WOU and SOU

UPS and Whitewater agreed to that game after the Linfield schedule was set.  Just be thankful we have 7 D3 games because Linfield was within days of finalizing a game with Azusa before HSU stepped up again for a 2-year deal.

I don't know what else I can say besides the program works very hard to schedule games with D3 schools and Linfield can't help it if teams in the western states either have their schedules set or will not play us.

My question is why not schedule Azusa even after we got HSU?  I'd love for the Cats to play 10 games (D3 or not) like most of the rest of the D3 world.

Because Azuza most likely equals a third loss on the season after HSU & Whitworth. Get past those two Cat fans and get ready for a trip down to The Runner for a chance to play the real NCW Champ Redlands.

Oh yeah, before the you all respond with your usual 2004/2005 the Butcher is the greatest, just make sure you all help your buddy Blue come back to the light.

Signed,

your best buddy RFB, or BFD if GHC is responding.

A Redlands fan taking shots at Linfield is the equivalent of the Kia car company claiming superior performance over a Mercedes.

A) That explains why Redlands hasn't scheduled Azua in recent years--they assume it's an automatic loss.  B)  Who cares if it's a loss or a win---Autobid is all that matters this year for the Cats (we learned last year that the NWC gets no respect in at large consideration anyway).

The only person I've seen bringing up the Butcher recently is you RFB....still bitter about the thumping you got last time you guys were actually willing to play Linfield, eh?
Go Cats!

Now I know why RFB seems to have his diaper in a bundle......

1999 Linfield 48  Redlands 0   (Redlands couldn't get past their own 35 yard line)
2002 Linfield 59 Redlands 21  (So they scored a couple on the scout team)
2003 Linfield 49 Redlands 10  (We felt sorry for them and let then have a few points so they wouldn't cry)

So the coach decides to schedule the Indian Eddy Haskel Nations instead. What a joke! Until a SCIAC team schedules Linfield, I think their whole league is chicken%$#@&  and a bunch of duckers......and as George would say..."bring  it on!"

D O.C.

It would seem the bravado is the playoff game at LINFIELD that was not a drubbing but simply an elimination loss, again. And probably the game at Whitworth that was not like the Clark led knife-through-butter Whitworth game at Redlands.
The loss, again, at OXY last year gives the maroon and gray hope as well, I suppose.

Defense preview will be out in about 10 hours along with a great player blog entry.  Took a look at Southern Oregon's roster today...about 40 transfers with a little under half their roster from Cali.  It should be a very interesting home opener.
