Had a year or two off, played at least one year of Juco ball.  And last year was at a D1AA or D2 (I don't remember) school in Louisiana.  This will be his last year of eligibility I think, but don't quote me on it.

I did some checking and it looks like Jesse Clark played last year at Northwestern St. in Louisiana and registered 60 some odd tackles at the safety position and played in 10 games.

I'm glad to be hearing from the Whitworth boys again.....509 glad to hear from you guy!!

Thanks for the update on camp 509.  Only one question - thought Easterlin had one more year at DE?

WC11, thanks for the info on JV.  That would be hard to keep so many guys happy without those other opportunities to play.  Especially with no more redshirting allowed.

Used to be you could promise a guy two years if he worked hard for the first three, but no more.

True enough but you also have to remember there are no more tradional red-shirt seniors taking up roster spots.  So we're seeing more true frosh players get the chance to get in the rotation via special teams or break into the rotation as frosh than in years past.  It's been an adjustment that I think Coach Smith and staff is adjusting to well.

I don't think I'd be off in saying that most, if not all, of the NWC coaches would love to have red shirts back.

WC11,

With so many Qb's and Rb's did it look like Coach Smith was working on the Wishbone?

blue,

Did you take your trombone and play the Olympic tune for the guys? That always got me jacked up!

Go Cats!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Ha!  No I think it was the double wing T.

The 'Cats are going to do what the 'Cats are going to do...4/5 wide and toss the ball around the yard.

Maybe a little A-11 thrown in as well?

...well, I wish I could Tuxy, but I blew out my lip last time I played....and haven't picked it back up for about 20 years.

ADvantage Catdome: Sled Work with Defensive Coordinator Jackson Vaughan

D O.C.

Does Jackson ever wear a National Championship softball ring?

Isn't he the only person to have a football and a softball?

Why are they all the way over to the tracks? Stop engines by the end of the week?

Easterlin had a year left but couldn't get into Whitworth's MBA program.  Had a good GPA so I don't know why he was left out, but I'm sure the coaches were mad.  Why have an MBA program at your small, private, liberal arts school that your own students can't get into?

As for the freshmen QB's go, I've heard that Jansen and Durant both look good.  Neither are going to challenge Kemp for the spot but it sounds like everyone's a lot less nervous about the backup situation as well as a new QB taking the reins next season.  Both have strong arms and run well, but have struggled with accuracy and the pressure put on them by your typical Whitworth 7 man blitz...probably didn't see too much of that in high school, especially at that speed. This is all word of mouth type stuff though, haven't seen them play, so take it with a grain of salt.

Hey Coco ,
How about the kids from the islands going to the Little League big dance.

Phone it in

GHC,

It was great to see them win it all, and more so because it is not a wealthy area. It's a pretty good mix of kids.
