I lie awake at night having nightmares of the coming plague aka THE LIBERTY LEAGUE.

I did see a girl with a Kings Point sweatshirt at the park this morning.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

D-Train,

I have to agree with you on the Lutes.  Listening to the last two games seems to suggest they are playing with more fire.  Could the young guys be finding their identity?  These next couple of games will prove to be a huge measuring stick for our boys.

Scenerios vs Willamette...
A.... Holding onto the ball, the Lutes can win this game.  I am guessing it will be somewhere in the 28 - 21 range because Willamette likes long slow drives.

B.... Lutes give up the ball, forget what they have learned and Willamette grinds the time out with long drives and wins something like 28-14.

I am hoping scenerio "A" holds true.  Willamette has had our number for the last couple of years.   Perhaps the 4-2 shows it value this weekend.

I'm still trying to gauge just how much the Bearcats' two bye weeks will factor in. They were putting it together and had won 3 straight, but it will have been three full weeks by the time they suit up Saturday evening. The Lutes are looking much, much better. Should be a solid match-up. I think both teams will force the Pirates to earn their playoff consideration with tough games.

D O.C.

Naked Nott Run...please do not be afraid to come on this board and ask a question. The sharks here are very hungry.  I did have to applaud rockcat for his simple humor at your expense.  ;) He has been missing from this board and came out of the deep trough to feed on your underbelly.
Care to give us info we need to know in case LINFIELD is paired up w/ a Liberty League member?

WC11, Dwight is a clear, poignant addition to that players blog, is he not?

Dee,
Again I think that teams go flat after a layoff.  I feel that PLU has the advantage because they are young and the more they play the better they become.  Practice is one thing but there is nothing like game experience .  PLU over Willamette by 10 this week.

Phone it in, its in the bank DEE

WC11.

That is a good point about the wedge.  I vividly remember seeing black and orange bodies flying all over the place when Oxy was at the Catdome.

GHC -

You're the only one who has weighed in on the topic...but I keep fishing. I tend to agree with your assessment and prediction, however the Bearcats have had the Lutes figured out the past three years or so. Plus, the new Lute DC has only seen the Fly once before.

BTW: That Lute linebacker who was hurt right in front of you at the Catdome hasn't played since. You swore to me that he'd be back the next week  ???

Dee,

I'll throw down my 2 cents.

You already laid out the key factor of this game.  If PLU doesn't turn the ball over then they are going to be able to score points.  I have no idea how Willamette is going to react after not playing a game in over two weeks.

I like PLU to pull this game off but it will be a close one.  I have PLU as a 3-point favorite.

I'm not expecting much for UPS against Linfield. They are in a league by themselves. But I doubt it will be as bad as UPS' last trip to Linfield in 2002. Nothing like watching Russell take the first play from scrimmage to the house for a TD. That was a humiliating loss for UPS. They've came a long way from that loss.

Pennstlbu,

I've seen you've been on the board a few times since the game this past Saturday.  I was interested in reading your take on the Cat/Logger game.

I think that the 2005 game might have been worse than the 57-0 beatdown the 'Cats gave the Loggers back in 2002.  Just for the fact that the logger program was looking at this year they would take a big step forward.

Hope you don't stay away too long, you have some good things to bring to the board.

I have not seen wu play, but I was impressed with plu's defensive quickness and their o's athleticism. I would think they will win (barring 7 to's) by 6.5+

That surprises me Dee, Looked like a stinger to me.  I know he is one of your stud players.  Did the team ever release any status on him?
Your boys really need to keep your streak alive.

D..... I'm with GHC, I think the time off will hurt the other cats.

I feel the Lutes need to get out of the blocks fast, by the second half the bearcats will be back to form.

It should be a good match, Is it a 1:30 or 6:00 kickoff?
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Now I'm getting some bites. I guess I just needed to pout a little.

GHC - It's a neck thing that they're being very careful with. He was in street clothes on Sat. and may be done. I'd love to see him ready for the Bearcats or at least the Pirates. But there's no reason to risk something more serious either.

Tux - They're playing at 6.

Gig Harbor Cat

I agree Dee.  There are some things you can play with , some you just dont mess with.  Just ask the Patriots,  Whats a stroke between friends,  Strokes should be dealt with on a golf course not a football field.

GHC..... whats the score this week? Willamette won 52-20.....and Whitworth won 48-10. Do the Cats get 70+?

I know we have talked this to death, but how many players does Menlo have out? A school with 599 students can put a team on the field to face the Cats but L&C with 3 times the students can't. ??? >:(
