Saturday Morning update from Abilene:

It's about 9:30 am Texas time. The sky is heavily overcast, but no wind and no rain. With Ike having turned North, it looks like we may have dodged the bad weather bullet. Other good news may be that the temperature is down some. Upon arrival here yesterday late afternoon, it was clear blue sky, sunny, hot and humid...uncomfortably humid.

On the down side, the team got here last night about 1 am. Just saw the first few guys out walking around.

About 1 1/2 hrs to kickoff:

Sky has gone from total overcast to occasional sunbreaks. Temp is 82 with winds starting to come up. Gusts of 8 to 15 mph. Humidity still in 90% range. 30% chance of T-storms. Looks like wind may be a factor.

About 30 Cats are on the field going thru individusl warm-up drills. Recorded music being played...mostly college fight songs so far...Notre Dame, Michigan State, etc. No fans inside the stadium yet (for either team) except for your reporter.

Will switch to Update board as kickoff approaches.
