No joy in McMinnville...bye....................

We'd be more joyful if we had a game to go to!   ;)

I think there is a factor that is not being covered.....I think the Redlands coach blackballed Whitworth last year in the playoff selection process. I think there may be a revenge factor going into the game. Even still, I don't think Whitworth has the horses to win the game on the road. Just my take...

Even if it was true which I highly doubt he is not the only vote in the process. Other coaches on the commitee also chose not to send them to the dance.

Also, there were some suspect teams that got to go from other regions. Some conferences got two teams in. This all contributed to the Rats not going.

I personally said at the time it happened that it was wrong. The NWC Champ should ALWAYS!!!!! be in the playoffs. If anything in good years maybe two teams.

This year that problem goes away. Win your conference and your in.

I'll be there. :)

Kool...are you going to give us a report after the game?

Yeah, I'll try and get my initial thoughts on here as soon as the game is over, and I'll post a link to my full article as soon as it gets published online.  For those of you looking for in-game updates, there will be live stats on the Willamette athletics website as well as a radio broadcast at www.fullaccesssports.com.

You're right the problem goes away this year with the auto AQ but what I "know" about last year is that when the west bracket left the regional committee Whitworth was in but once the national committee was done Whitworth was out.  I think we all know who from the west region was on that committee. (It's in the NCAA pamplet)

It's still speculation. There are other factors that go into selection. Could you at least agree with that?

The part about the regional selection board having Whitworth in when the bracket went to the National selection is not speculation.  When the brackets came out of the national committee Whitworth was no longer in.  Those are facts.

It's speculation on if Maynard sunk the knife in Whitworth but bottom line is that at the end Whitworth was out and I think we all can agree that was the wrong call.

Not much insight from the 'aars!" on here when they have a big, big game against a ranked team.....

Here's to the the Rats getting their heads handed to them this weekend!  Tough call for me since I hate Redlands almost as much but it's tough to call that one a rivalry...

On another note you guys gotta do this centsports.com thing I posted about a while ago.  They give you ten cents to bet with and you bet on college football and NFL games and anything else they have on there.  If you can get your balance up to $20 you can cash out for real money...Been on there for three weeks and haven't gotten one piece of spam from them!

...Redlands is no Hardin-Simmons University....the Rats are playing the lower level teams again to get their record looking half way decent.

He would never do that would he??  ::)  Considering he's 0 for the Northwest Conference in the playoffs, you bet your ass he would...

True, DOC, its been hard to point to anything specific to hang our hat on yet.  But I think the Pirate fans are confident that the team will improve greatly from week 1 to week 2.  They have a history of that over the last 10-12 years under Tully.

Looking forward to listening to Bob Castle call it all on the radio.

And here it is "Talk Like A Pirate Day" (A coworker reminded me of this) and the only one saying "Aar" is a Linfield Fan....Oh well.....maybe we'll get some last minuted Aars, Args, Ahoys, Yo Hos, etc. before the clock strikes 12.....

Since '99 Redlands is 0-4 vs Linfield. The games weren't even close. They are about the same level as UPS or Menlo.  And then they got blown out by Lewis & Clark in 2000.

Hello one and all! First thing first, the Rats have been looking foward to this game all year and everyone in the Pirate Circle has been waiting for this game. If the dogs come out flat this weekend Redlands might be the ones walking away with a little more than their heads in thier hands.

As for a rivalry, I know for a fact people up in the pine hate Redlands for dodging Whitworth last year in the playoffs. And Redlands hates Whitworth for beating them 3 out of 4 years. If thats not a rivalry then what is.
